It seems a bit dramatic to say it has "ruined" him. He's 27. He won the USO beating Djokovic in the final, having recovered from a fairly comprehensive beat-down at his hands earlier in the year in Australia. For sure, the loss last year in the AO final would have been crushing, and it was clearly a setback for him. He's not the mentally toughest out there. It seemed to make him wobbly not to have held onto his #1 longer, too. However, I, for one, believe that rumors of his death are greatly exaggerated. If he never recovers from that one particular loss, that's on him.
Would have thought it was obvious I meant it ruined him for the short term in that he's a contender even now but he lost the number 1 meekly and had a lot of poor losses post AO final loss. Of course the USO was some redemption but he had some bad results last year so it affected him a lot.

I would be interested to see some statistics table about slams only, not sure how it would exactly be measured, but some kinda ranking for who has defeated the better players on route to a slam, does anything like that exist anywhere.
If you noticed, El "oh I like Rafa too" Dude didnt give this thread a bump last year between the January to late June.

I find it mildly disturbing that you're keeping track of when I bump this thread. Anyhow, I don't think I've bumped it at all - other people have. Furthermore, Rafa going up on the Slam count didn't change my view all that much, because I don't think GOATness is only about Slam titles, especially when you're talking about high and/or close numbers.

Dude no pun intended but it doesn't take a rocket science or a moron like BS to know your patterns..Don't find it disturbing but Rafa fans are "on" to you. .it's like knowing someone at the job who has prejudgment against a new employee because of age , race , color or creed but not on their merits..don't sweat it and continue to do you. You have an audience that believes you have unbiased theories based on your perception of what should be incorporated into your algorithms. It's all good, I like El Dude, my grandma taught me at a young age, " baby it takes all sorts of people to make the world what it is!"

Exhibit A of the paranoia and victimization among at least a large chunk of Rafa fanboys. You sound like a cult member, AP.

Don't be ridiculous. Remember it was my observation three years ago that said it was a Three headed GOAT regardless of how the final GS total count. I'm FAIR. I will not hijack your post or thread because of it's premise.

It's important to remember Nadal inspired the latest generation of players Korda Swiatek and Ruud.

Nadal the only star left in tennis the Current fan favourite and most popular player.

Djokovic will never be as loved or popular as Nadal.

Nadal the bigger icon compared to Djokovic.

You're tripping. How am I unfair to Rafa? I pick on his more fanatical fanboys, or the general trend of "looking for Rafa attacks (even where there aren't any) and circling the wagons and defending Rafa at all costs, regardless of topic conversation" mentality that seems so prevalent here. But I have nothing against Rafa and have often raved about his career or play. But believe what you want to believe.

No1e is not as loved as Nadal, especially among homosexuals, but now he is much more popular than him.
Djokovic more popular in your dreams. not only did Nadal win fan favourite award recently. Nadal also more social media followers on twitter or any other main platform.

Nadal AO final last year draw much higher viewers compared to Djokovic this year.

Nadal much more popular compared than Djokovic in Australia and the other western countries it's not close.

This is why Nadal inspired current women's 1# Swiatek and Upcoming Ruud, Korda.

You saying Djokovic is more popular than Nadal got to be most silly thing I ever heard on this forum.

China and India, for example, have many more people than your "West".

Your claim that Nadal is more popular than No1e is utter nonsense.

People often forget popularity is regional and Novak has a huge following in the Orient; actually speaking Chinese & Japanese! Nadal can barely express himself in his native Spanish, much less English or other languages! That makes a difference! Being a huge fan in the US or Europe doesn't compare to the rest of the world! Logic and stats state it all, but Rafa-fans are by the moniker of such things, FANATICS and can't see the forest for the trees! :angry-face: :astonished-face::fearful-face::face-with-hand-over-mouth::face-with-tears-of-joy:

I’m not too sure what this means. Are you saying Novak is uglier? That he’s so ugly that fewer people would be attracted to him? Or are you saying that homosexuals might sense that he’s got a backward mentality and not want to lower their standards?

Only stupid people don't understand what I wrote.

Ask @Moxie, @MargaretMcAleer or @tented @Kieran and @TheSicilian if they think you're fair!

Quite frankly this post has turned into 'my man is better than your man' I have better things to do with my time, some of the latest posts regarding who speaks the most languages etc, who is the best looking etc, is kindergarten stuff. It started off good, though sad to say has gone downhill in a rapid rate.

But to be fair, they went downhill faster than we did because we’re better than them! Because we’re better looking, to both women and men!
