I am overdue with my new career high for this week:Nadal moves past Federer and now has Stan in the crosshairs. Zverev overtakes Kyrgios for the first time.

I am, because I am vacationing, in Firenze as I write...herios, you're slacking.
The stars aligned for him. Not sure how long he can keep the wolves from the door.Wasn't it just last year that Nadal said he knew #1 was no longer a possibility for him? Little did he know that all he'd have to do was play marginally better and wait for Djokovic to hit the wall. No offense to Murray...who's proof that if your greatest competition has motivational issues and loses before you can play him or has a knee injury and is out for 6 months - that your dreams of being #1 are well within reach. Without those 2 things happening - no way would Murray ever have gotten to #1. All Nadal has to do is figure out a way to win on something other than clay.
Novak drops to #4On the live rankings, Novak just fell to #3, with 5805 points. Out of curiosity, I looked up last year. As of 6/06/2016 he had 16,950.
- Andy Murray will remain No. 1 by reaching his fourth Wimbledon final;
- Rafael Nadal will return to No. 1 by reaching his sixth Wimbledon final;
- Stan Wawrinka will debut at No. 1 by winning his first Wimbledon title;
- Novak Djokovic will return to No. 1 by winning his fourth Wimbledon title, but only if both Murray and Nadal lose before the semi-finals.
Moxie, that is the straightforward way.
But, as long as Nadal finishes Wimbledon ahead of Murray by 1 round then Nadal will be the number 1 player after Wimbledon.
Not so fast. Andy has a lead of 105 points over Rafa. Hence, Rafa needs to outperform by Andy by more than 105 points to overtake Andy.
If Andy loses in the second round and Rafa loses in the third round (which are within the realm of possibilities considering Andy faces Dreddie and Rafa faces Kachanov), then Nadal indeed finishes ahead of Murray by one round and that will only give him 45 extra points and that won't be good enough to overtake Andy (not to mention reach #1).
