Hey,
@Nekro! Just heard a band from your motherland, called Europica (bad name...). Metal with folk influences (almost a plague these days, I know, even if in fact they just borrow some themes). Lot of guest singers. Decent material, let´s see what I think after the next auditions.
wtf, lol never heard of them before, now checked them out, it's horrible, it's like power, heavy, glam metal but without the strengths of those genres. just horrible, don't know how they got Tim Owens, who even sang in Judas Priest, to sing in that shit project
Good folk metal is good..... Dalriada is the best folk metal out there easily, not because they're from my country but because they have the most inspired and well written songs, their songwriter borrows some themes too but he happens to be a very original songwriter at the same time who can come up with divine stuff of his own, he's a genius....
The only songwriter in folk metal who's on the same level is Jari Maenpaa from old Ensiferum, he's now writing different stuff though in Wintersun, not folk, he has this Devin Townsend mania and he's writing this black, melodeath, devin townsend eastern bullshit mix which is awesome..... good musician is good musician, no matter what kind of music he writes
LOL about your videos posted above, the way you fly from opposing styles is beyond crazy!
Another original band from my country with great ideas of their own who are good at mixing old folk and modern stuff are Virrasztók, gotta love the face painting even thought there's not much black metal in their music
