Well - I've been away for some time but ready again. Here is a favorite from the past - 1982 - originally by Dexys Midnight Runners - here in version from 2011with Sugarland and Sara Bareilles. Feel good tune me thinks. PS got a Britt award for best British single.

And as second tune today a hit by Meghan Trainor a very good singer songwriter - here a song from 2016 - where she's stanning herself and have a nice time - so why not go out and feel the same - it's Monday!

Welcome back.

I like the 1st song you shared but prefer this version.

Another song from the year I was born (well, this version was anyway).

In these Me Too times here is a song that bring reality to Earl

And you can't run from it - it's Monday - and why not a manic Monday like The Bangles sing in their cover of the old Prince song- enjoy

Throwback time to 1978 where we find Blondies big hit Heart of Glass

When I think of songs which have Earl in them I normally think of this 1.

Silly me! I forgot about that 1 when I was sharing Monday songs.

I heard that later but 1st heard Blondie in the late 1990s when she brought this song out.

Along with the ABBEY ROAD and NASHVILLE SKYLINE albums , it is also 50 years since FROM ELVIS IN MEMPHIS album came out. Unfortunately this famous album is not get the same level of coverage as the Beatles and Bob Dylan albums which is a bit disappointing. Here are a couple tracks:

Dad's got that 1. His favourite Elvis album though is the 1 that has 4 records in the folder & is the 1 live from Hawaii via satellite. This is my favourite song from that album.

Another song from that album.

My favourite version of the song.

Interesting article in my local paper about the research of "what is a 'hit'" in music:
https://www.smh.com.au/national/que...-why-some-songs-are-hits-20191108-p538s5.html
Somewhat unsurprisingly to me, they found that some new/unexpected variations in the chord progressions are the vital ingredients that make certain pieces of music "famous". I'm a poster boy recipient of here when I've been saying that I'm "bored" by a music that lacks variety and repeats known chords ad infinitum. Of course other people might have different tastes/opinions, but they have averaged opinions of the population at large in this study and their results make sense to me.
