It takes a while for the rank to reflect the true and real level and standing of a player.

Rafa is not a top 10 player right now.

He would struggle even on the challenger circuit right now.

I have not heard anything about a wild card for a small clay event like the one Houston or the one in Casablanca.

Crucial mistake if Rafa doesn't go and compete.

Inactivity has completely finished him off. there is exactly zero willingness on his part to try to change his stars.

I really don't think it would be wise from any top player to play in either of the clay tournaments in the week before MC, especially if they are on different continents.

Isn't he carrying a wrist injury?
There is nothing I can find on the wrist, in English or Spanish. He had a bandage on his hand, which could imply something as simple as a blister, a burn or a cut. And it was a bandage, not a brace.

I saw a picture of Rafa somewhere and the one who took it says he is practicing. Fed also practicing in Monte Carlo.

Roger actually practices.

Rafa farts around at his near lame practice sessions.

it looks more like photo shoots for public consumption.

Did you actually see that yourself, heard from someone or you just think like that about Rafa?

You have not any idea what are you talking about, and you know? I'm not going to tell you what INTERESTING news I've read and was told about Nadal, you will found out probably soon but not from me

You can tell us, Carol. I heard that Rafa said he can be competitive with Nole again. And I think he can. I think there is a certain period in every player's professional life when things don't go their way, struggle with things on and off court. But all great players overcome it sooner or later.

uh how do you overcome loss of mobility and stamina? basically loss of youth, can't buy it back despite his millions

Rafa always practices with higher intensity than Roger, who makes it seem like a walk in the park. you ever see them practice? go and take a look instead of making things up

Did you just say stamina?

They have 105 year old people running marathons.

Rafa's problem is not really a problem.

He could at least win some rinky dink 250 level or 500 level event with some hard work

He just does not want to win anything.

And hence the staggering drop in form and fitness.

Federer is training like everyone, otherwise he never would have been an excellent player. But practicing a little before a match is a different story, ones like to play harder than others and apparently he likes to practice lighter, he does enough the previous days

If you have not figured out yet why Rafa has such a staggering decline in form and fitness then I suggest an easier sport to follow:

Fishing Rodeos

1. Bubba catches fish

2 Biff catches fish

3. Official weighs the fish

Get the picture? So much easier to follow and understand.

This is why Rafa's losses don't count anymore.

he retired from the sport 2 years ago.

does his 2014 RG still count? that happened less than 2 years ago. or we only count his wins and ignore the losses? happy? :lol3:
