You forgot one thing though re Stan. He hammered himself in both of those matches. Wafa didn't have to do a whole lot so it's not much of a gauge of anything really except Stan's consistent inconsistency.

Well, this kind of comment is meaningless. I mean, with similar prejudice we can look at any match and wisely conclude the same, so we don't have to praise the winner... :cover

After all the times you've made fun of Stan's shortcomings, suddenly, when he plays Nads, it's meaningless for someone else to make a similar comment. :snicker

You know where I'm coming from, brother: the day Front admits something reasonable about Rafa, Donald Trump will throw off the wig and scream, open the borders! ;)

Talking about inconsistency, like Nishi and Berdych today? :cover

Berdych was never going to win and you think winning a set on this court against the guy who's won the tournament more than anyone else is a bad thing somehow? Good one. That was a very good result for Nishikori and the expected result for Berdych.

Berdych has game to beat anyone like ha has done before (once and awhile) but he has showed a very poor game in this tournament thanks to his inconsistency and Nishi even that he played a little bit better against Roger....nah, he had chances but he couldn't take it and that's the reason why he doesn't have any MS and much less a GS, INCONSISTENCY
Stan? I think he has woke up after to have a very "sweet dreams" :p

Stan is inconsistent (though he may have rediscovered his banjo in time here) but Berdy has nothing in the trouser department...

Btw, for Novak to lose to Rafa on this surface would take a "serious mental injury" from Novak. There's absolutely nothing to base thinking Nadal will win on other than outright blatant hope. This is one of Novak's best surfaces and Rafa's worst.
My impression was that yesterday and in the second set on Tuesday Novak struggled to play with any intensity. So for whatever reason he really seems low on energy at the moment, which together with Rafa seemingly playing quite well gives the match a lot more suspense than probably anybody would have thought a week ago.

Of course it's possible that Novak will play much better tomorrow and if he reaches the level he had against Nishikori or even in the first set against Roger it should be enough to win the match but if he does play like he did against Berdych, Rafa will rightfully like his chances.

Gotta remember he only had to win one set against Berdych to qualify so there's nothing to base the performance on after that. He could well have taken the foot off the gas 'cos he didn't need to win the 2nd set after qualifying from winning set 1.

Djokovic is now 21-2 against Berdych. That's more than inconsistent, that shows he has next to no chance. Nishikori is a much better player than Berdych but injuries are holding him back but he wasn't gonna beat Roger here either. He'd have much better chances on a faster court as he takes the ball so early. He's like a constantly injured clone of Davydenko. I hope he's able to stay healthy for longer than usual next year.

I've listed plenty of reasonable things about him, it's just you can't accept them even if they're plain as day obvious to all but the blind :snicker

I would say Djokovic in two sets. Now, it is up to Nadal on whether or not he wants to make this a competitive match. If he somehow can calm his nerves, then he can make it an interesting match.

But in the end, Djokovic is too consistent right now.

I'm almost hoping that Nadal wins this tournament just to see the Nadalians suddenly change their tune and start talking about how important this tournament is. :snicker

I don't remember any Rafa fans say this is not an important tourney. Sure, it could never be mistaken for a slam, but it is important... ;)

Lol, I see that after today Rafa's performance some voters have removed their votes of his win in two sets, it seems that they don't trust him any more and I don't understand why because after to watch the vid I think the match was pretty good and well played by both players :lolz:
I have still faith on him ;)

Anyway, like I said at the other thread, if Rafa would lose tomorrow it's not a big deal. He is playing on his worst surface and still not his best game meanwhile his opponent is the #1 and playing on his best surface and his best game
And I just can say that I'm impressed of Rafa's results and playing this semis after having the worst year of his whole career. He is almost ready to make a great 2016 which is his true Goal

If Rafa can win a set (not asking for the match), then I would say he is confirming his incline and will be a slam contender next year.

And if that happens and ATP changes WTF to outdoor clay next year, expect Rafa to complain that just because he won last year, they immediately changed the surface. :lolz:

I'd like to see Stan win the title. Just for giggles.

Djokovic vs. Federer: Djokovic wins.
Djokovic vs. Wawrinka: Wawrinka wins.
Federer vs. Nadal: Federer wins.
Nadal vs. Wawrinka: Nadal wins.

The semifinals: :popcorn
