More of the Beatles Decca auditions with John, Paul, George and Pete Best, early 1962 -

Good to hear a longer version of "Dig It" and with some marvellous spontaneity. Back in 1970, Phil Spector who was the producer of the original album chose to edit this to a measly 50 seconds!

"Two of Us" now in a more defied mix with McCartney and Lennon's vocals in separate channels.

Interesting discovery.
This song was waxed by Sir Paul and released on his solo album "McCartney" one year later, in 1970.

I liked how the boys did an early version of George’s All Things Must Pass too.

Extremely extraordinary talented musicians George, Paul and John. Did Ringo bring anything to the “table” or just an average drummer?
Ringo was asked, years after The Beatles broke up, what he would have done if he hasn’t been a Beatle, and he was surprised by the question. “I’d still have been a drummer”, he said.

I’ve never heard his name mentioned alongside the great drummers, but then again, for me, “a great drummer” is one you don’t notice, so maybe by that reckoning, he’s probably okay. I hate those interminable drum solos that became popular in the 70’s. Crisps and beer time, as I call them, meaning that as soon as the twenty minute drum solo kicks off, I’m outta the sofa and heading for the kitchen to top up, until the music starts again…:lol6:

Some drum solos ( Blondie Dreaming and Call Me, and Telephone (drummer Clem Burke my all time favorite very underrated) really make a record legendary..just like some guitar solos.. ( Eddie Valen lead guitar for Beat It made him a crossover legend,)
I do realize this is about the Beatles. I listen to their albums and think, if they only had a real drummer if you know what I mean.

Well, I’ll bow to your better knowledge as to his expertise as a drummer. It’s often said that he wasn’t even the best drummer in the Beatles - that Paul was :lulz1:

This is one very fine remaster of the Beatles concert, live at the New Musical Express (a Brit T.V. series). Footage has been upscaled to 1080p. Great work on the audio creating a stereo effect!
