Here's the Race to London Rankings as of March 22 - there's a whole group in the top 100:

27. Nick Kyrgios
40. Borna Coric
48. Thanasi Kokkinakis
58. Hyeon Chung

There's also a group of 21 and under players in the top 100: Jiri Vesely, Kyle Edmund, Lucas Pouille, Kimmer Coppejans.

I've mentioned him before, Jesus, as he's one of the highest ranked 18 year olds. Don't know anything about him, though.

"Teenagers Borna Coric, Alexander Zverev, Chung and Andrey Rublev all reached the second round, making it the first time four-or-more teenagers have passed the first round at the Miami Open since 2007, when Murray (19, SF), Djokovic (19, Won), Querrey (19, 2R), Korolev (19, 2R) and del Potro (18, 4R) all advanced beyond the 1R."

...says atp site.

Nice. It really does feel like, for the first time in half a decade or more, there is a talented group of youngsters that have a chance of being really good.

I saw this stat too on the ATP site - the thing that struck me, apart from the signs that we have a good crop of talented teenagers, was the range of future success among those 2007 teenagers: based on success so far, we have an all-time great, a great, an injury-plagued could-have-been great, a guy who peaked in the top 20, and a guy who peaked in the top 50, but then had injury problems and is currently ranked 639 in the world. I wonder which of the new generation of teenagers will follow which of these paths? It will be interesting finding out...

That's always how it is. Tennis history is fully of players who rose fast and dwindled...we just don't remember them.

One player that comes to mind is Andriy Medvedev. He had a pretty good career, ranking as high as #4, winning 11 titles including 4 Masters, but his highest year-end ranking (#6) was in 1993 when he was 19-years old and he never again finished a year in the top 10, despite playing until 2001. He was of the weak generation (born 1974-78) that included Yevgeny Kafelnikov and Gustavo Kuerten, and was the first of that generation to finish a year in the top 10 by two years--Kafelnikov and Enqvist finished in the top 10 in 1995.

This week an interesting change in the top 100. The 2 teenagers for the last few months were Kyrgios and Coric, as of today Chung jumps to the 88 ranking spot, after winning a challenger in Sarasota joining Coric.
Now they are the 2 teenagers in the top 100 because today Kyrgios turns 20, so basically he is not a teenager anymore.

Kokkinakis is just outside of the top 100 at #101, with Zverev at #118. Theoretically we could see 4 teenagers in the top 100 at some point this year.

I think both will make it there very soon, it could even be this week.
I noticed that Zverev is stronger on clay, that is where he rose last summer in the rankings. This year the spring clay season just begun, so he could gains good ground before the HC season.
