I agree with body-serve tactic. Del Potro is no Michael Jackson.

The guy that knows how to return the body-serve best is Nadal, because he has quick and small footsteps around the ball. Djokovic is sometimes troubled by the body-serve because he is more of a "leaner and stretcher" with the gymnastic movements, not a particularly small foot-stepper. And yeah, Del Potro is neither gymnast nor small-stepper.

Come on Juan! Keep hammering those first serves for one more game!

Nothing more interesting than a player serving for a championship. That's what I'm all about.

Outstanding year from Del Potro. And oh so close to the Wimbledon final. Maybe these kinds of results will help his confidence level so next time he converts the slam semi.

Vamos Juan! Great win. Fed might be back though and it's great to see! Any fan of tennis should be sad whenever he has to hang up his racket.

Aside from a few good games here and there this is still same old 2013 Roger. He will be in London but I doubt he goes better than 1-2, probably 0-3 most likely. Should have pulled the plug after USO, huge mistake

Bitter defeat for Fed again. But DelPo was the better player. Which, at this point in Fed's career, DelPo is the better player in general anyways. DelPo with just so much power and that huge serve. Add in Fed's lost step and growing inconsistency, from point to point, hitting more errors, DelPo is just better. And so Fed still has only beaten one top 10 player all season. He'll need to do well in Paris if he wants to make it to the YEC. But, if he makes the YEC, will he win a match?

I thought Roger played pretty good today. Better than in most recent showings.

He won't need to do well at all in Paris, he is all but assured London. Unless he gets to play Ferrer 3 times he is looking at 1-2 at best, there is a reason he hasn't been competitive vs top 10 players, and that's because he is playing barely top 20 tennis after AO this year

I think so. You have to remember for the last 2 years, Fed, Delpo and Novak have been the best players in doors, so losing to delpo isn't an indicator that he can't beat other guys in doors. He lost twice to delpo last fall, but made the finals of the year end championship. So I think Fed, if he plays like today, is the favorite against most of the top 8 in doors except novak and Delpo.

Nice standing O for Roger...a bit too long maybe.

Nah, let him and the crowd soak it up, it could be his last time there

I really doubt that brother...

Darth would have Federer signing up for the AARP at his next birthday.
