Stan the Man: "I can beat all those players"

In fairness, Stan is probably trying to navigate the new territory he finds himself in, both in tennis terms and PR ones. It's not like Djokovic in 2011, who took his game from a pretty top level to the very top, which really only a half-step. Stan has gone from very nice middling results to he spot-light, and rather late career. He will probably keep feeling out his level the rest of this year. But he only has a couple of years to capitalize on his status. We'll see how he manages it.

Well I think he's a bit premature! Right now he hasn't even reached Murray's level! With his age, he has a limited shelf life and should pull back on the editorial commentary even if he thinks he's only speaking about himself! uzzled :s :huh: :angel:

^Maybe - kind of see your point considering grass is such a niche surface these days. In practice, it makes no difference if you are Number 1 or Number 2 seed, other than prestige.

Hey, if I won a GS by defeating the top two seeds in an era where only one guy has won a Slam outside of the Big 4 since 2005, I'd be feeling a bit cocky too.

What has Stan said that requires him shutting up?! If you are going from the comments in the OP, all he has done is made an accurate and provable statement. He has beaten Rafa, Roger, and Novak this year. He has also beaten Murray 6 times. So what is wrong with him saying he is able to beat those players. It is merely a statement of fact. He didn't say they can't beat him from what I can tell...
