Not sure what ones but i'm going that Murray wins 2 Slams in 2017.

It's more probable that Andy will stay slamless.

Based on crazy No2e fans logic. Yeah. Players who are reigning #1 don't fall off that easily. There has to be at least some form of gradual decline. Oh wait... :laydownlaughing

Djokovic is too big a champion to rule out for the next year's year-end #1 race. He'll do pretty well himself. It will be interesting to see what level of play Murray can show at Australian Open and Wimbledon.

You obviously aren't old enough to remember Matts Wilander! No one dropped off the face of the Earth in tennis as fast and precipitously as he did back in '89! He had won 3 majors in '88; by the '89 USO he was upset in the 2nd round of the USO by some nobody called Pete Sampras! He was pretty much just taking up space in a draw and out in a few years! His commentary that's still legendarily wrong the only thing left after a stellar career marred by a failed drug test in '96! Like Nadal & Murray today, they work too hard to win even early Rd matches! :nono  :dodgy:

WTH, I'll take a crack at it -

Aussie - Djokovic (surely he's got his caca together by now?)

French - Nadal (surely he's got his caca together by now?)

Wimbledon - Cilic, Krygios or Raonic (One of these idiots is surely due?) - Otherwise I'll go with Roger who, even on a bum knee, almost made the final in 2016.

US Open - Djokovic

Basically I think Murray's 2016 will catch up to him - and not in a good way. And Roger looks a little overweight and out of shape to me in the Hopman Cup practice sessions and he himself says he has low expectations for Australia and possibly the first part of the year. Otherwise I'd pick Roger for all 4 just to be contrary. LOL!

OK...I love me some Roger...but the French Open? He's got a better shot in Australia, after not playing for 6 months, probably seeded 16th and having to play Murray or Djokovic in the 4th round or quarters, than he has at the French. I'd pick Raonic with his quicksand feet to win French before I'd pick Roger.

I doubt Federer will play the French Open in 2017...

He'll play the French. He's already said he didn't know which lead up tournaments he'd play - and last year he said he'd be in Paris in 2017 if he was healthy. He says he wants to play 2-3 more years, but the reality is, it could be his last French Open - so he'll be there if he's able.

Here's a prediction: each of the Big Four will go out early in at least one Slam this year. By "early" I mean the first week. That isn't a hard prediction for Rafa, who does that more often than not these days. It also isn't a stretch for Roger, who has been upset a couple times in the last few years, and is rusty to boot. Andy? I think someone will take him down early. Novak? Yep, him too.

It is hard to argue against the fact that Djokovic and Murray are far ahead of the rest in terms of slam chances. I am critical of Murray, yes, and root against him, but he won a slam in 2016 and got to three finals. Djokovic won two... they both played the YEC final. There is no rational argument against them.

Put I put my hopes in the fact that it is also rational to expect a 2017 full of surprises. The top 2 look good, sure, but not unbeatable, and they indeed had shown different kinds of cracks in the armour. The rest of the field is hardly consistent, we do not have a good seed percentage reaching semis, quarters and round of 16. In surpriseland everyone has a shot, including the player I root for (Federer) and another one I like a lot (del Potro).

Each one may go out in some slam early. But, I doubt that all four will go out early in the SAME slam. These four people are greedy. When someone fails, the others would immediately double up their act (both because of the warning they got by other's loss and also because they would begin to smell a low hanging fruit).

2016
Andy was in 3 Slam Finals & QF @ USO
Nole was in 3 Slam Finals & 3rd @ Wimbledon

I could see 2017 the same,i've seen nothing different to change my mind atm.

you´re right, but if you cut the year in two halves, things get different... in the first half they made all the finals, but in the second is one final each, accompanied by a medium result and an early loss. Not that their second half was a tragedy, but quite less than the first. In fact, if you look their combined results over time in 2016:

AUS: Champ, runner up
French: Champ, runner up
Wimb: Champ, 3rd round
USO: runner up, QF

Is this a blip or a downward trend? The answer in two weeks...

From what I have seen of Nadal, I think he is going to be a good factor throughout. Yah, it's still to be seen if Rafa can step up his game at oz open. The think about Rafa was he was almost unbeatable at slams during peak.

Point is Nole & Andy were in all Slam Finals in 2016 three of them were won by these guys.Nole was runner up @ USO the only Slam that was not won by Nole or Andy in 2016.As for the two halves of 2016 Nole had the better first halve & Andy had better second halve of the year. With Slams & Masters these guys won way more than anyone else in 2016.I've not checked out what other tennis players won in Masters 2016,maybe it's worth checking out who won what apart from Andy & Nole.

Without checking properly and off the top of my head as I'm not at home, Cilic beat Murray to win Cincinnati anyway.
