My picks:

AO: Murray def Djokovic
RG: Djokovic def Thiem
Wimbledon: Raonic def Murray
USO: Djokovic def del Potro

Not terribly risky, but my best guess right now. Major caveats of course for Nadal at RG if fully healthy there, Fed at Wimbledon depending on how his return goes. I'm also picking Djoko to get his YE #1 crown back.
If Murray were to defeat Novak at AO, it may have the same affect that mentally as the loss to Stan had over Rafa in 2014.

If del Potro reaches USO final it means that he is hammering everyone down. That´s exactly the way (or even the only way) to beat "real" Djokovic. So in that possible match I would give the Argentinian the edge.

Haha...there is no way Roger wins the French Open. I'd probably put ten players ahead of him.

I guess I'm not alone in "overindulging" as someone so diplomatically put it! :eyepop :celeb: :lolz: :nono

Go big or go home:cover :laydownlaughing

The thinking was something like this: AO = Wawrinka, FO = "Nadal is not himself, Djokovic is on the slope, Murray can't play on the red stuff, no way Wawrinka goes 2 for 2 -- (i'll skip FO for now)", W = Federer, USO = DELPO.

Then i go back to FO and start thinking about who's the 2nd best, had to be the great maestro!:)

Unless he's suffering from physical issues, I think he'll play because he stands to gain a lot of ranking points since he didn't play last year.

But would getting into BO5 early round matches with kiddies be helpful? I'd stick to the Masters events preceding Paris! :nono

Murray can't play on the red stuff but makes RG Final & won a masters onit.

the only thing I can predict is that Delpo won't win AO.....about the others 3, I have my doubt about it, he seems to struggle with himself

Doubt Del Potro will ever win another slam to be honest.

He has what it takes when right on his game,i think yes on this,he has the game that can beat the best when @ his best.I'd be very shocked if he ended up a one Slam wonder.

Sure he has the skillset but I'm talking about his physical state. He'll cause some upsets for sure but winning 7 straight matches at a slam with the state of his wrists seems unlikely imo. Looks at him now sure. Already skipping the first slam of the new year.

Here are my predictions for the year 2017 in the tennis world.

1. The four grand slam trophies will be won by four different players.

2. JMDP will win at least one Big (ATP 1000 or higher) title.

3. Fed will qualify (one way or other) for the WTF.

p.s. I may keep expanding this list until Dec 31st midnight.

p.s.2. I know that some of the above predictions don't have anything to do with slams. But, I did not want to start a separate thread for that. If the mods feel it is better to create such a thread, they can do so and move my post there.

Few can argue with that, but Fed will need a lot of help; maybe injuries taking some players out of the draw in London at the YEC! It's nice to keep on having faith he can just keep coming back year after year, while the newbies continue to allow themselves to be abused by granddad! Sooner or later they have got to start saying "NO" and put him in his rockin' chair! :dodgy: :p :devil

You will know come January, why he still doesn't belong to the rocking chair.
