5 points in a row to hold his serve should get rid of any final's jitters that FAA may have.
I am not afraid of any jitters for him.
My concern is when he is eager, he tends to over hit. All 3 UE in the 3 game were due to that. He basically gifted Gael with 3BP. Luckily he saved them.

Felix got broken. A combination of different type of errors:
1 DF
1 Over hit with FH
1 Miss hit.
Then a winner but Gsel.

Frustrating. Gael has one strategy: Keep the ball in play and let FAA make the errors. I don't even know if Gael has a winner !
He has. Felix has to clear his head fast, because is foggy right now, he is a UE machine suddenly.

Felix has a tendency to over hit, no matter who is on the other side of the net. Today more so against a defender style of player like Gael.
This is over, I am afraid.

Monfils: Great to peak in your career at the ripe old age of 33.

That's where it's been going since "The Big 3" have kept pace with one another as they age! The entire tour is so reminding me of the era I began playing the game; the 70's vets were the best with Borg the only real phenom teenager! His contemporaries didn't blossom so soon like Vitas, Vilas, Orantes, & of course Connors! With the women it was the same thing, the vets were the best with a single teenager like Austin making a name for herself very early on! Today's tour is rapidly aging even with the young'uns like Tsitsipas, Khachanov, Shapo, Rublev, & Medvedev! They seemingly have been waiting to take over, but somehow Fedalovic continue on! I really think a breakthru has to happen this year; maybe Thiem in Paris or Medvedev in NY! I think Wimbledon will still go to a veteran even if it means Milos gets back to a final! :thinking-face:

This was Felix's first final, right? He definitely had the nerves, but fought hard at the end, when it was a little too late. Great for Monfils, though. Nice to see this late-career commitment from him.

0-4 in his first four ATP finals. Worried or no?

Roger won his 3rd final.

Rafa won his 2nd.

Novak won his 1st.

Andy won his 2nd.

Sampras won his 1st.

Agassi won his 2nd.

Becker won his 1st.

Edberg won his 1st.

Wilander won his 3rd.

Lendl won his 2nd.

McEnroe won his 2nd.

Borg won his 5th.

So there you have it...he's Bjorn Borg ;).
