Errani got lucky. Pova would have beaten her. Now she can possibly make the final. Pova's withdrawal is a surprise. I expected that from Vika or Serena. It would be incredible if Serena won this title and the FO, although winning here might add to the pressure to go all the way in Paris. Exciting times for her fans indeed.

Vika seems poised to take this and make it 8-0 against Samantha.
It took 3 sets and a breadstick in the middle set for it to happen but it did.

Lots of errors in this match!

Simona Halep did a great job in reaching the semis in Rome. Probably one of her best performances so far. Good luck Simone just play as well as you can. You've nothing to lose. Whatever happens in the semis a congratulation is appropriate already
Victoria showed that she's a classy fighter and Sam proofed that she is not. I feel kind of sorry for her. BTW has Vika's boobs grown bigger or is it just me imagining things :shy:?
Sara Errani had an easy day and will be fresh and rested tomorrow when she meets Vika. Can she put up a fight? I think she can!

I think the crowd will get into that Vika/Errani match I last read that 1985 was the last time an Italian won or had been anywhere near the final.

SingleBH, you are not imagining. Vika has gained weight the last few months.

Vika's serve needs work. 8 doubles against Sam. She might not survive Errani. Sorry to see Stosur exit.

Errani has a chance in front of her pips and if she engages that crowd Zenka will be in trouble.Errani has a pop in her serve plus she is now very strong mentally...

She could give Vika some problems on clay. She has the game for it. But I always have this little doubt in my mind when it comes to Errani vs top five players. I could be wrong, but if I remember correctly she's only ever had one win against any of the current top five. That's a lot of mental baggage to take into a match against Azarenka. But she'll have the crowd on her side, so who knows....

I guess she was eating a bit more when she was off those 2 months.

Yeah, I've noticed that as well. Even at the start of the year there seemed to be more of Vika than in 2012. And now there seems to be even more of her than earlier this year. She's been enjoying the good life I think. No problem, but she needs to be careful. Losing half a step of footspeed can make all the difference in some of these matches.

Can I just interject and say some Serena fans are effing ignorant. I just left a message board where they are saying Maria wanted to save face and not get beaten by Serena again so she made up being sick so as not to endure another beating. I now understand why most fans of other players get fed up with Serena fans because some of her fans come up with the most convoluted ideas and stupidest statements I have ever heard. This is coming from a Serena fan! Get it together folks!

Well, tennisfrontier is different in that there is less trolling here and that people are a bit more reasonable, but in my experience at most other tennis forums fans of the better player see that as a valid excuse to piss on the fans of the other player. That's also what makes such forums a waste of time because there's really no honest exchange of opinions - it's all about trying to get under the skin of other posters. In other words, those Serena fans don't really believe that Maria just wanted to avoid playing Serena (nobody is that dumb), they just hope that by saying so they might upset a few Sharapova fans. Very lame, but that's how it goes.

Most of those other sites don't have moderators so the posters are free to say what they want when they want. Because of that, many of those posters will stay on those sites because of that freedom. Tennisfrontier is the best environment for the open exchange of opinions, ideas and discussion w/o feeling like you're dealing w/ a group of 8 yr olds. We hope both you and Sunday will continue to post here.
