RE: Roland Garros Injury Reports: Murray Out, Del Potro Doubtful

I also hear that Wawrinka is also questionable for RG
Stan has a small tear in his right thigh from Rome
Though from the up dated news I am getting Stan feels he can still play at RG this year
It would be a shame if another player had to withdraw.Stan has been playing good solid tennis on the clay

I'm more worried long term about Del Po than Murray. I sense that Murray could give it a go if he wanted to but he is being smart and skipping a grueling tournament he has absolutely no chance to win. I think some rest, a week at Queens, then more practice on grass and he will be fine for Wimbledon.

DP though...just another step back and clay really is a great surface for him. If he had rounded into good form he'd probably be the third or fourth favorite at RG (meaning he has no chance to win but could easily make a deep run).

I agree that the worse news is for Del Potro. Many would have chosen him as the Dark Horse, at least at RG. I don't think it was likely to be Murray's year at the French. And, yes, Murray is going from a time of the year when he doesn't have great results, into the time of the year when he does, so the smart call is to protect the body, protect for Wimbledon, and for the best part of the HC season.

Del Potro seemed to be on a run back onto form, then he had another wrist injury, (the left, I think,) and now the virus. This is bad luck, as he could have made a run at RG...arguably better than Murray.

I see Bellucci hasn't entered either, anyone knows why?

Abdominal injury apparently. A shame as when he plays well he's very exciting to match. The guy's play is so erratic though, up and down more than a 2 dolla ho.
