Well they have not caught my eye as yet,I think the Italian young men at present are the one's to watch. Also I will throw in 2 young men from Spain
If any poster can bring up a good young French player,I will be happy to watch with interest.Hugo Gaston is a good young doubles player from France, let us see if he can achieve in singles
Italians are force right now and the years to come I guess.

Gaston had a remarkable run last year in RG and he was a joy to watch, if I remember he is lefty and he was killing the opponents with his dropshots.

Another good young frenchman and also lefty is Ugo Humbert, but he seems to struggle lately. He has nice offensive game and volleys. I watched him against Kyrgios in AO this year, he could win that match if he could manage his nerves better.

Must be some rain on the way, they just closed the roof on Chatrier
This will suit Zverev,he is prone to DFs in his game.
Zverev leads 2 sets to love 62 75 over Djere, who had his chances in the 2nd set.
Zverev d Djere 62 75 62 he will play Kei Nishikori next.

Fognini had to have the trainer out in his match against Delbonis, trailing 64 15,he smashed his knuckles on his racket, the 2nd player to do this so far.............must be something in the strings this week at Roland Garros.

Perhaps Federer's problem with the comeback were those small courts in Doha and Geneva. Once he stood his foot on Chatrier he looks to me like he never missed a tournament in months. Amazing.

The storm that hit Roland Garros has passed.Outside courts all the tarps have come off and play should be able to continue shortly.
Play has now resumed on all outside courts

The FFT is holding a press conference to discuss the state of French tennis after they failed to have any man or women reach the third round in singles.

A much needed helping hand for his recovery. Hope he beats Zverev but a lot will depend on Zverev's serving and Kei's legs but at least he got lucky today there not having to play more than a set. If he serves well his serve can be tricky to return, if not, he's in trouble.

The roof being closed for Zverev's match helped him today with serving.

I was surprised to see Ruud go out...though Davidovich Fokina has had some good results lately. Saw just a bit of the end, which was tight. Nice regroup from a 4th set bagel.

I thought after the bagel from Ruud he would have gone on with it,Fakina is tough and evlevated his game,it was tough in the last set,he held tough....good tough win.

Nice to see the young guns playing better and better, Daniil , Zverev and Tsitsipas will fight for the honour to lose in the F.
Im looking forward to the QF and SF, should be very good matches in both halves.

I was watching the match in and out and just saw it now that Fokina made an underarm serve when he was facing a BP at 6:5 serving for the match in 5th. Ruud caught sleeping and could not even make a return. Very gutsy move from Fokina given the situation.

I just laughed out loud when he did the under arm serve....sneaky but it worked:)
