To be fair Kskate she has been out with a hip injury, and missed most of the clay tournaments, this was her first tournament back
Since it was her first tourney back, I'll give her a pass this time. Wonder why she didn't play at least one warmup? She could have taken a WC in Strasbourg, played a couple of matches and withdrew if necessary.

Quite frankly I thought she was going to miss the whole clay season, point taken regarding a warm up before RG.

Taking a WC into a small event would have told her if she was ready to play a slam and she could have revaluated her decision to play, etc. Something for her team to think about it.

I get the feeling that we are going to be talking about Mirra Andreeva in 2 years the same way we talk about Carlos Alcaraz right now. Andreeva is taking the WTA by storm in a way that we haven't seen since Monica Seles/Jennifer Capriati/Martina Hingis in the 90s.

Agree, I have to also find out if she has a new coach as well, after she and Tursnov have parted, she said she wasnt in a hurry to get a new coach and would take her time

I will sit back and wait to see how she goes forward, she is talented, see a long way to go

I missed Coco's match I see she took the scenic route to win, though that dosent worry me, first match at RG , adjustments to make, at least she has Patrick with her, shame he cant be her full time coach, I will watch her match on replay later today

Not many fans in the stadium to watch Swiatek in her first match, fans probably trying to get their breath after watching Meddy going out in 5 sets lol!
Lets see how both players handle the wind on Chatrier

Another break of serve,Busca returning well at present and Iga is off her game presently
Iga breaks again 3 all
Can someone hold their serve please. I know these windy conditions are tricky, still players have to adjust their game to suit the wind

Iga gets a BP and wins a very tough 1st set 64, both players having trouble with the windy conditions on Chatrier
