Caroline Wozniacki is a bit p..... about the WTA rules. She would have withdrawn from Toronto because of her calf injury (which is healing ok) here is why she didn't - and I wasn't aware of these restrictions for top 10 players:

If Caro had withdrawn from Toronto, she would have lost $125K in WTA Bonus Pool payments, and 180 ranking points...

She also risked a late withdrawal fine ($25K ?) and a restriction of her right to play International events, but there may be an exemption.

Were you aware of this?

Serena's MO of "dig out a hole, perform a miracle and then come out a victor" continues. Only interesting twist this time is running away with the third set ala Novak

A la Novak?? Are you serious. If anything Novak would be doing that à la Serena, whose signature if she's had to dig out of a hole is to win the last 10 of 11 games, or very similar.

Think Australian Open for the top and it appeared to be a black skirt bottom.

I don't think it's black. Looks more dark grey. Still hiddeous though

Tenis fashion has gone off the deepend this year. As Snoopy would say, bleech. Still, its better than that ridiculous, shirts-too-short, let-me-expose-my-belly-Brittany-Spears look that used to be around. That was awful. Now it's all about cleveage, baby. :cover

And also, how tightly pulled back does Serena have her hair. My gawd. That can't be confortable. One tug and and roots will be coming loose.

Just for the record, as a black woman, she wouldn't have to pull back her hair tightly to get that effect. She'd just have to straighten and then possibly use a wrap to get that completely flat look

Shows you how much I know about women's hair. Still looks painful though. By the way, what's a wrap?

Wonderful match between Haelp and Kerber.
Simona wins at last, after some exhausting 3 sets and thanks for the pro Halep crowd included in Romanian as well.

Oh my Azarenka vs Errani match is interesting.

Only in the fact that Errani is in the driver's seat apparently.

Errani is the enigma of the WTA tour. She can easily be fed a bagel by a player we've never heard of, and then she can be beating a resurgent Azarenka. Most baffling player by far.

Jesus, can any of the women hold their serve. An awful lot of service breaks today. God, the women need to learn how to serve better. Lord knows they have the return on lock.

Azarenka gets through two potentially tricky opponents in Svitolina and Kvitova relatively unscathed only to go down to Errani in straights. She also jumped out of the top 20 again.

Azarenka wakes up only for Serena haha...she better get back with Sumyk ,the way she was talking to Vim shows that she has no respect for him.

^^ It's not like Vika was going to stop her either. :lolz:

Well the bottom half definitely got a lot lighter, and the winner of A Rad vs Halep looks to be the finalist I would imagine on that side.

Serena has some tricky players in Petkovic and her play against Bencic could prove interesting.

I am not saying Vika would have stopped. But, she has the potential.

I think only Ana and Simona in the remaining field has ever beaten Serena.

Not just Serena. She raises her level when she wants to and apparently that's only when she's playing someone who's won a slam (Serena, Venus and even Petra last night).

Azarenka is a mess right now. She gets upset at her draws. Doesn't make the most of them when Serena is on the other side of them. Girl, play the game not just specific players.

I believe we have it all wrong. In men's tennis, we're always saying, "holds his serve" or "needs to break back. In women's tennis, it should be "holds her return" and "needs to hold back."
