That was surprising, I didn't think Sloane would win it routine like she did.
I didn't think she'd win in the first place.

Interesting to see if Caroline finally record a win in Toronto. She has won the tournament in 2010 - yes but that was in Montreal where the tournament is played every second year - she's never won in Toronto - a little curiosity -eh? ;)

I read somewhere before this started, Caro and Venus were 0-12 here.

Great win,Pliskova was leading 4-2 in the 3rd set, great comeback and win against the No 1 player.

This is Woz's first win against a #1 ranked player ever. I guess this only means Pliskobot is not a legitimate #1 (just like Woz was for about an year or so).

At least when Caroline, Safina and JJ were number 1 they had won a mandatory premiere event worth 1000 points. Plisko hasn't done any of that. Really making her bid for #1 laughable.

Rain last night washed out 2 of the QF matches. Halep/Garcia and Mugu/Svito have to pull double duty today.

In regards to Pliskova being the number one player,it is hardly her fault,it is based on the current points system of the WTA.I also remember the criticism when Safina,JJ and Caroline were also No 1 players, without a GS title, again the WTA award points with the number of tournaments played and results to players which in ways I think is fair.

Wozniacki d Stephens 62 63,it is her second Rogers Cup final and first in Toronto. It is also her 6th final of the year.Caroline is 6-0 in SFs,0-5 in finals so far this year.Sloane also had a good tournament, hopefully she can build on the good form she showed for the rest of the year.

.... is not a legitimate #1 (just like Woz was for about an year or so).

67 Weeks to be exact, she also ended the year as #1 in 2010 and 2011
2 years in a row, a feat that will not be repeated, ever. Especially for one who didn't win a slam while doing it.
I believe this the 5th or 6th final for Caro this year, I hope she wins it, she should have plenty confidence. This surface is where she shines at.
I think she should be a prime candidate for US Open.

Nobody is saying it is her fault. If this is happening at such a high frequency, may be it is time to rethink the ranking formula.
