I have always been a fan of Keys, she does remind me of Davenport, huge serve and fhand.I feel of all the younger American players Madison has so much upside to her game.Madison has a great coach in Hogstedt and also Aussie trainer Scott Byrnes,a former fitness trainer of Azarenka and Ivanovic.I know Scott personally,he was a trainer at our AIS of sport in Canberra.Madison has had lot of injuries this season, hopefully that is behind her in the latter part of 2016.I will be supporting Madison in her final match against Halep, sorry Dareen Cahill:)

Not to be today unfortunately. Simona doubles up on the Wimbledon meeting to take this matchup too. Congratulations to Ms. Halep.

I was rooting for Halep. Madison has to learn how to use her tools better. She doesn't make enough adjustments during a match and just goes bombs, bombs, bombs, missing more than she makes. Simona, on the other hand is more cerebral and relies more on analyzing what's going on during the match than simply going by instinct. Madison reminds me of young Venus and Serena Williams when they first came on the tour, blasting everything in their path. Serena learned how to channel her talents better over time and I'm sure Madison will too. However, she'd better stop listening to the commentators oohing and ahhing over her power and winners and instead focus on winning the match. Stats don't mean a thing if you've lost.

Hey TF - I got told it was a pretty ugly error-strewn encounter. I didn't watch it myself but is that a fair assessment?

I didn't watch the first set but the stats sounded horrific. Halep won the first set with only one winner, but in the tiebreak she buckled down and Madison played very erratic; going for big shots that weren't there and making bad choices. I started watching from the tiebreak on. In the second set I think Madison was a bit deflated. Halep played smarter in the second, but Madison doesn't seem to know how to use her tools properly, just yet.

The final was not a good one.Keys serve decided to go AWOL.Keys still has to learn 'control aggression' full stop and consistency she is still young and learning and I hope she stays with her coach, her transition to the net still needs attention.Halep used her defense and out smarted Keys.
