Nishi called the trainer in Washington but later he was able to win the tournament, and I bet he will play in Cincinnati

Looked to me like that poor overhead he hit right back to Murray was where he kind of grimaced in pain a bit and shook his head. May well have landed badly on his calf.

It's not been 6 years, he went to number 2 after winning Miami 2013 and interchanged between 2 and 3 with Roger for a while before Rafa went on his rampage and overtook everyone.

This guy is definitely made of glass. Unbelievable from week to week how he can be so high and then out of commission because he tweaked something :cover

Maybe they're talking about finishing the season as #2! Not like I care; that counter-punching nonsense is so aggravating! He allows no names to get ahead before he decides to play more aggressively; IDIOT! :cover :puzzled :nono

Just got back and saw the score.

:eyepop :cover

I was rooting for Murray to win, but so disappointing to see that Nishikori came up lame again. It's got to be so frustrating to be his fan. He can play so good but his body is never going to let him achieve what he could with a sturdy body. Sad to say it but that's the truth.

I've seen other players who had problems with injuries; HELL Haas is a walking MASH unit, but I just can't remember anyone of this talent about as fragile as "fine china!" Del Po has had his trials and travails, but he did accomplish a lot before he shattered his wrist! OTTH he made a name for himself by winning '09 USO, wiping out Nadal in a straight-setter semi and coming from all the way back in the final against Roger in 5! He snatched the Olympic Bronze from Nole in 2012 on grass! The handful of times he managed to attend a major, he wasn't there very long! I just can't remember him ever getting past the 1st or 2nd round at Wimbledon and the FO; you'd think clay a great surface for him! Del Po fans must be pulling out what little hair they have left! :p It seems he'd get back to the tour, win a tourney and make another final before going out again with more surgery! I think the last time it didn't take and he became committed to more rehab after another surgery! I just couldn't deal with that; most faves of mines being quite durable with little time off the court! Evonne Goolagong put us through the ringer with birth of Morgan; leading to a fragile Achilles she oft injured! The only thing comparable was Borg at the USO; always something (a thumb, a shoulder, or abdominal strain)! :cover :nono  :dodgy:

I've been holding onto the belief that Nadal will make it back, maybe not to Slam level but maybe like Federer is doing now.

But after watching the way Nishikori threw him all over the court makes me waver. Nishikori hardly seemed to break a sweat, while Nadal was seating buckets, had a bewildered look on his face and definitely looked the lower of the two.

Rafa sweating is a different issue. He had always been sweating even when he was going on winning spree and crushing everybody. That is probably genetic, but at any rate is not related to his current decline.

"I think I'm more tired," admitted Nishikori. "Everything was sore these couple of days. Today it got a little bit worst so I couldn't really move 100 per cent.

"Especially after the first set, I was feeling it more and more. At the beginning of the first set I was okay, but after that I wasn't the same player."

The Washington title run and then a SF finish here has worn him out. I think it would be wise for Nishikori to just drop out of Cincy and rest up for the USO. Too fragile.

I don't see Nishi so fragile (maybe his ankle?) he looked strong and well on Friday and also in the first set against against Muzz but after to lose then everything change.....like Gulbis against Novak.
If he has that ankle in so bad conditions (it's the only issue that he usually has) he should stop to play for awhile and to take care about it, otherwise he won't go too far

This is interesting. Djokovic is familiar with the smell of cannabis.
Novak Djokovic was forced to complain to the umpire during his Rogers Cup victory against Jeremy Chardy after claiming the smell of cannabis on court was making him feel unwell.

After winning the first set in Canada, the World No 1 approached the chair to speak about the pungent smell filling the air.

The Serbian ace said: 'Someone is smoking weed, I can smell it, and I'm getting dizzy. Somebody is getting high. Can you smell it? The whole place smells of it.

He may be familiar with the smell but I don't think he understands how weed works if he felt dizzy after smelling second hand smoke in a huge open air arena. I wish it were that simple :(

Wow, I imagine that guy smoking weed would be in the first row and all people around him "sleeping". Novak seems to have a good nose lol

Interesting set. Murray edging it and being aggressive as he needs to be, Djokovic has been off colour with a good spell in the middle.

Hopefully Andy can get over this hurdle, it's important for his career, not just today, not just for the U.S. Open...

Hi everyone,

Decided to return to posting. Also because I have a pressing problem: none of my regular streams are working: fromhot, sportslemon, drakula stream. And I really want to see Djokovic play Sock.

Can anyone help out?

Thanks!

Hey Denis, hope you're well. My usual go-to is Fromhot (aka Fromsport) but it seems to be getting blocked. Unable to help, unfortunately...

I can't connect with that site these days either.

See if this works for you:

Thank you tented, this link works!

The Bryan Brothers win their 35th Masters title and 109th overall title. They have now won Atlanta, Washington and Montreal. Cincy and the USO next?

Why is Murray looking like he's on his last leg "again?" What an idiot! Works this hard to take the first set, now he's draggin' around like he can't make it around the court! ;-(
