But Big John has aspirations of getting to the SF's again. Takes the breaker and then gets the break. 3-1 in the 2nd set when the rain comes. Both players are leaving the court

Did you get to see any of it or are you having to follow it at work? That tiebreaker had more twists and turns than a farm road. I figured Chardy would have a let down after holding set points. Let's see if the rain break helps him. :snicker :nono

I am following it at work, but am fortunate to be able to glance at the ESPN3 feed every few min. Chardy definitely had his chances. I can only think the delay will help him focus his game plan again.

It's nearly 6:00 PM in Montreal, and they haven't finished even the first match. Novak/Gulbis was supposed to have begun at 2:30, Rafa/Kei at 6:30, followed by Murray/Tsonga. At this point, I don't see everything ending before midnight. And that's assuming there isn't another rain delay ...

Oh, and Novak and Rafa are supposed to play doubles, too. Me thinks the Bryans and Murray/Peers are going to have walkovers.

Haven't watched any of this tournament and wouldn't mind watching some of the matches later but too late here so screw it. Pity. A few good ones in the next few hours.

Wonder if they'll put one of the matches on the 2nd court just to get them all done today?

Isner goes down to Chardy 7-4 in the third TB. After holding 7 MPs. Gonna hurt for a while. :cover

Congrats to Chardy on his first Masters 1000 SF! :clap

Serves Isner right after Chardy gifted the 1st set to him! After such a toughy, both will be useless against Nole; if he makes it of course! :nono  :dodgy: :cover

Novak and Ernie definitely still on next? Might actually stay up to see if Ernie's actually playing well.

That would be good for the players, but I doubt they'll do it.

I don't think he had any on serve. Both guys were protecting their serve well.

This made me wonder what the record is for most MPs saved:

Most match points saved in a winning match (Open Era) :
Adriano Panatta (11 match points saved against Kim Warwick - Rome 1976)

Most match points saved in a winning match (All time record) :
Wilmer Allison (18 match points saved against Giorgio De Stefani - Davis Cup 1930)

I thought he had at least one on his serve in the 2nd TB. I was getting ready to tweet "Isner Wins!" and then in typical fashion Isner wanted the TB to go on for a bit longer.
