Serena must be super focused. I did not expect 6-0 against Stosur.

I know someone around here who will be happy.
Where are those Brits when you need them?

I just don't see Lil' Domi coming back from such a deficit, she is a streaky player and right now, this is not the right streak.

Both Kerber and Watson are serving, ahead 4-1 in the second set.

Here now

Watched most of Heather's match, she tried her best to lose all those leads, but a win is a win and this is another very impressive one. It will be an excellent experience for her to go up against Azarenka even if Vika isn't in the best of form.

This kinda win brings confidence, one feels they can't lose. Heather may get a free pass, I wouldn't be surprised if Vika pulls out or loses.

What a long match between JJ and Sloane, they outdid Heather/Domi, JJ won a 3rd set tie-breaker, match went past 3 hours.

Serena and Samantha are back on the court after a rain delay, 1-1 in the second set.

I notice that none of the women have yet qualified for the year end championships - is that due to the WTA points system being different to ATP or just because there's been such a spread of points?

Seems that Maria can become the first one in by winning this week.

^ It is due to the spread of points. Last year Serena qualified first because she was raking in all the mandatory tournaments and premier 5's. This year it is spread around more.

Both Venus and Serena are playing at the same time. Though on different courts.
Rarely happens these days.

Serena feeling the moment, 2 break points, ahead 4-2

Serena blasts a couple of deadly accurate returns for a 5-2 lead

She will serve for the match.

Hahahaha! Serena is playing very well for a change. Serena said, "Bye betch, I got things to do!" Nice to see her be aggressive on her serve and return. She needs to keep this Serena going!

So far, so good for Serena hopefully each match she plays just builds that confidence even more I want her to lift the US Open trophy again and get #6 and #18!

Serena always feels good here, it's Cincy when she gets out of whack!
After the match, during the on-court interview, she said she was playing loose under no pressure...by Cincy time, she should feel some pressure! US Open will be the pressure cooker for sure.

Venus takes first set 6-3

I wouldn't say she always feels good here. For a while, she skipped it altogether or was injured and couldn't play. Last year, she came in ragged and left for Cincy looking even worse for the wear. I am just hoping she starts playing well and more aggressive than she has been. I saw her employing more net play in Stanford to great effect which I liked. I would love to see her win #6 and #18 at the US Open.

Apparently, Tennis Canada paid members of the Genie's Army to fly to Montreal and
cheer for her and they got rewarded for that.

There goes my "Support Simona in Singapore" little plan.
WTA denies our natural rights to be flown in first class and watch our player ;)

the wingspan of lebron james :puzzled
i saw her match and it looked to me that she was doing less mind games, focusing more on her own play. lets hope...
