Nah, Rafa vs Delpo was a bit better because he was a tab bit fresherRational National said:Despite more than just a little bit of doubt about the merit of tennis in the Olympics, I'd have to say that I just witnessed the best match of the year. That was huge

After seeing the first two games, I thought the match will be over in straight sets and in about 2 hours. The fact that it went to 4 hours shows the tremendous spirit of DelPo. :clap Hope he heals completely and have a few years at the top of ATP.
Nah, that match was good for 2 sets then Andy fell away. Tonight Delpo never fell away and was metaphorically carried by the Argentines in the crowd, plus the playing style contrast made it a joy to watch. It was better than the Rafa match slightly because of that more exaggerated contrast.Fiero425 said:Rational National said:Despite more than just a little bit of doubt about the merit of tennis in the Olympics, I'd have to say that I just witnessed the best match of the year. Better than 2016 FO; Nole winning to complete a "Nole-Slam" and potential for a OGCYGS? uzzled :nono :dodgy: :cover
I genuinely don't see a draw that will prevent Murray making semis at least. He now displays a mental toughness that backs up his ability.Sundaymorningguy said:Disappointed wanted JMDP to win. I despise Murray. I hope he gets the worst draw from hell for the US Open.

I understand that sometimes they have to do as an "emergency" but what Nishi has done is worse than that, very ugly tacticGameSetAndMath said:Carol35 said:WHAT????????? this is unreal and unacceptable and I hope they make something about that

Unfortunately, the rules about bathroom break are quite vague. There is not even an official limit on how long a bathroom break can be.

15 minutes break and the suspicion that he took a shower is a little too muchGameSetAndMath said:Carol35 said:I understand that sometimes they have to do as an "emergency" but what Nishi has done worse than that, very ugly tacticGameSetAndMath said:Unfortunately, the rules about bathroom break are quite vague. I don't know whether Nishi took a shower or not. However, taking a bathroom break after losing a set is an age old trick and has been indulged in by all players including Rafa and Roger. There are no saints out there. So, it is not fair to just single out Nishi.
