Btw, how did Rafa play in his 1st match
In singles during the first games he looked a little rusty but later he played much better including the serve. In doubles he and Lopez had to work hard but a win is a win
Here you can read in a few words how was the match

Novak and Nenad Zimonjic are playing #3 seeded Brazilian team (home court advantage) later tonight. Expect Novak to go down in doubles today. On the positive side, it won't be called an upset. :)

p.s. On the other hand, just like Roger and Stan defeated BB, Novak and co might pull an upset. But, I doubt it.

The best thing about the Olympics is the drug testing by WADA means we're seeing players true non doped levels. Incidentally, it was the same at Wimbledon this year where the tournament did their own random testing for the first time. Back to normal though for the US Open as they don't give a $h1t there so expect very different results to the past few months where everyone and their dog is doped to the gills again. Am I going to get flak from certain fans for this comment? Yes. Do I care? No. It's the truth. Proper drug testing scares the worst offenders and you see how they actually perform without enhancement and it's quite eye opening.

Should've gone with my gut instinct of a €500 bet on Murray to win the Wimbledon/Olympics double. Can't see him losing this now. 2 Wimbledons, 1 USO and 2 gold medals is a pretty good career so far.

Rafa and Lopez wins the second round doubles match vs. JMDP and co. :clap

Rafa's trip to Rio is already worth. He has carried the flag and won two matches in singles and two matches in doubles (so far). I would say anything more is gravy.

Rafa may not cry, but he kisses Marc after winning the match. :snicker

Nole exits from doubles as well and that too in straight sets. But, as I mentioned before this is not an upset and is to the highest seed that is still alive in the doubles (no to mention they are from the host country).

Now that he is out of both singles and doubles, it remains to be seen whether he wants to take the next flight home or want to play with Anna. Interestingly, Anna can also take a flight right now. She is not entered in the doubles event and has lost in the first round of singles (not to mention that she just recently got married).

there's a sentiment about players who are not attendng the Rio Games due to injury or whatever was due to avoiding the WADA testing

There is indeed but only when it's a surprise injury that came out of nowhere.

Djoker is not gonna play mixed doubles with Anna, he has ended his 2016 Rio games qwest

What do you mean? Why he would not play in Cincy, to collect the missing flower vase?

He's said he's skipping it. Will laugh my arse off if Roger wins it again next year at the age of 36.

Cincy courts play very fast. If Roger is in form a two out of 3 format will continue to play to Roger's strength if he is not made on comfortable on the court. Hi attacking style will break down Novak or Murray if they are not on top of their game. However, when Roger goes to the US Open, the 3 to 5 match format may not bold well for him.. Go ask Darth.. he goes to the darn tournament almost every year

Djokovic seems mentally burnt out. since the French open.

he may have physical issues or whatever the rumours on it are but mentally he is out of it.

but at the Olympics del potro was rather good as well.

I keep saying, Nole hasn't played top notch, supremely confident tennis since Qatar where he annihilated Rafa in the final several months ago! He's gotten through, won 4 Masters and 2 majors, but he hasn't been sharp! Kei almost got him, Andy's been on the cusp taking Rome final, but Bo5 events should be Nole's best friend on clay and HC for the next couple years! :dodgy:

Poor Monaco, he has not played well for awhile and I don't see he is going to do better
Meanwhile Uruguay vs Brazil match is very interesting and like Brazil vs Argentina always they have their own war lol
