Busted said:ROTFLMAO at the title of this poll. Oh ye of little faith. I looked at his draw...he won't play anyone until at least the semis when he may play Tsonga...so I'm gonna give him the benefit of the doubt that he can be the guys ranked lower than 20 and go with Tsonga in the semis. Almagro looks like 2nd round and he did make the finals last week, so that's a possibility, too. Just 2 eyars ago though I couldn't beging to imagine a poll like this existing. May how the mighty have fallen...

IIRC Stan's match was delayed by rain, taking Nole's match into darkness after 2 sets; needing another day! My memory is failing, but I thought that was what happened! He didn't look settled to me even after winning 1st set of the final against Wawrinka! I well knew what he was capable of; usually extending Djokovic to the limit even in defeat! Previous FO matches with Nadal were interrupted by weather as well! I feel like I'm in the twilight zone sometimes! You mean after all this time you haven't gotten a hold of my twisted logic? :nono  :cover

Gimme a break, your twisted logic is hard to get a hold of! :laydownlaughing :hug
Novak played for about 20 minutes on the Saturday, having a light knock up in the fifth set because Andy went away. He played no long matches before this. You're not saying that Novak isn't well conditioned, are you? I mean, you and I both remember McEnroe playing Connors deep in the fifth on a Super Saturday semi in Flushing Meadows in 1980, and coming back less than 24 hours later to dispatch Borg in the fifth set in the final.
You're not saying Novak was somehow unlucky that he had to play for a few minutes on Saturday, are you, and this cost him the FO? And "previous matches?" Which ones cost him the FO?

I'm speaking in reference to a routine; Nadal more so than Djokovic! When their schedules are interrupted, there can be emotional rollercoasters going on in their heads we may never know about! :dodgy:

Come on, they're not rookies. They're highly motivated and focussed young men. They can handle a tiny delay...

I haven't confirmed, but with only one match played due to inclement weather, the schedule will be thrown out of whack! We all know how Nadal needs consistency and time off to recover! There might be some "double downs;" killed Ferrer the other day having to finish a match in the morning, then go against his good buddy and pigeon Almagro! It took its toll and the rest is history! It threw off Nole at the FO last season; and before that! Some places just are cursed for some players! :cover :nono  :dodgy:

True only one ATP match is played. But, it is not due to inclement weather. It is by design. This is a joint ATP/WTA event and on Monday almost all the matches were WTA matches. They just obliged Isner as he wanted to go home soon.
