7 focused matches in a row. It seems this is getting a taller order with every week that passes for Serena. I hope she can get her motivation and focus straight. The Hopman performances from her were worrying.

Good idea!
I think you should expand your posts on this thread to include the actual top 10, not just a link.
If you go to page one of this thread and click on the link, it shows the same as the last you posted, the links do not show the ranking on the date you posted, they show today's ranking, all of them.

On the eve of Aussie Open 2015 the news is out:
http://www.wtatennis.com/news/article/4425196/title/how-sharapova-can-get-to-no1

Serena needs to make the final to keep the top honor, otherwise 3 players have a chance at being #1
Those 3 players are #2 Sharapova, 3 Halep and #4 Kvitova.

4 Czech players in the top 20! It must be some time when it was the last. If it ever happened at all.

The closest thing I can think of is, there was three Czech-born players in the top ten in the 1980's for quite awhile.

Good news for Serena is that she is defending very little in points from now until the start of the U.S. Summer Series. If she focuses and does well during clay and Wimbledon then she stands a great shot of ending the year at number 1. I am hoping she can at least nab one if not both of the French or Wimbledon titles. I know she said Wimbledon is a priority, but I would like to see another French on her resume.

Does anyone know whether the Singapore event is added as a bonus while computing the
rankings for those players making it there (as they do it in ATP) or is it counted as one of
the 16 tournaments that counts for the rankings?

I believe it counts in the 16. It is not a bonus. Serena lost points in Singapore for not going 5-0 in Singapore.
