The match which stands out in the QF is Nishi vs. Cilic. Cilic is one of the two players who could prevent Anderson to get to a top 10 position next week. He has to reach the finals at least.
Kei on the other hand goes for his 3rd title here on home court

Nishikori was in trouble after dropping the first set and it was 5-all in the third. He won the second but then got a MTO leading 2-1. The usual magic of a MTO worked, he broke Cilic in the next game and won 6-3 in the third. Cilic hasn't made a single final, much less win a title in 2015. The abnormality of the 2015 USO grows week by week.

Boy I wish! I live a two-hour plane ride away. Plus I was involved in a tennis tournament with my team this week so no chance! When I retire, I plan to make that tournament every year though!

Top two seeds against two unseeded players, Muller and Paire, which is nice to see. Even nicer is to see Paire getting rid of Kyrgios.
Paire has some untapped potential.

Stan was up a break in the second but they are back on serve. Hard to believe Stan was won only one 500 in his career. And this would be only his 4th 500 final if he wins today. As a 2-time Slam Champ, you would think he would have more.

We know that Stan did mostly not much until he was 28y old. That is not new. He became a different player the since he is coached by Norman.
He won by the way in straight sets.
