I've been a member of TTW since 2010.But I have some clue about the message board fanwars you're talking about.
I've heard from many people that the weak era theories were started by some angry Sampras fans on tennis.com-I've never had an account on it though.

Yeah, it was a pretty crazy era on tennis forums. I've still got an account on TTW. I speak to the poster TMF on there now and again. (he used to be on tennis.com and got banned when they did a massive cull), and another guy (massive Nalbandian fan, TTW name escapes me - Mike something) but he used to post as kowarrior on tennis.com. There used to be some good posters back in those days... people like Datacipher who got banned, chaognosis (tennis historian) and loads of others. TTW is still an OK forum IMO.

Yep, I remember Fiero. I forget who he was rooting for at the time. My name was Zugga on there, remember me at all @Fiero425? There were some reasonable Nad fans there, mostly females of course. I'm guessing with Fiero he probably remembers more of them than I do. I remember Pamela and one other one, they caught a lot of shit for being Nadal fans and girls. Pamela was a babe too so that didn't help her any

Do you remember Chelsia? I think she was a mod on ESPN. She came here but stormed off when @Correspondent Kiu asked why she was posting everything in bold italics.

I think the forum had become an embarrassment when it got noticed by the powers that be. It was unmoderated for a long time. They installed the owners wife as the Admin and half the board got banned overnight.

I remember the ESPN tennis board, I think @Fiero425 posted on there... I went to fetch some of them when it closed.

I was definitely there; usually running the discussions in TENNIS & Figure Skating! When I found out they were taking down their message boards, I started saving my "pearls of wisdom" to reference myself and for others to educate themselves! Been saving the best posts since '99 on my blogs; many of you immortalized in banter with me for all time! Sometimes I'd actually save informational/record posts from you guys as well even if we didn't have a discussion! I definitely remember Chelsea! :whistle:

I don't remember her, did she post as the name Chelsia? Hard to believe it was so long ago I was posting on there. Those were really bad times, NBA, NFL and tennis message boards.

We're talking almost 20 years ago, but I have a faint recollection of the name, but can't remember what we discussed! I remember it was pretty hardcore on the boards; insulting one another may have been the norm depending on who we were fans of at the time! I ran across Chelsea on another board and a few others that remember my name more since I've never changed it over the years! I was usually at work and kept me occupied during boring periods when I was just a computer operator babysitting mainframes! :whistle:

For me I'd have been on there near the end of their run, probably 2004-2008 or so. I don't even remember what we were talking about but I'm sure you remember Maddison (the racist Romanian professor) and the clown who thought he was a cat. And Pamela was like a less feisty version of Moxie. I don't even remember who you were rooting for or against. It was a free for all on there.

I think the only mini-argument I got in with you was on whether Hercules or Xena was the better TV show. Yeah it was that long ago

There was a reddy who used to post ranking calculations etc fairly accurately and quickly. I have not seen him around for a long time though.
