Yes Sherona. Venus is not consistent these days. At least she showed up to support the tournament.

Yanina should know better than to play into Caro's back-hand.
4-4 in the first set, couple of breaks too.

What happened Kiu? I stepped away to eat lunch and come back to see Caro down a set.

Wicky is in a zone, she is just HOT!

Caro is trying her hardest but Yanina is just better....

Simona was pushed to a 3rd set tie-breaker, she practically had to pull a bunny out of her hat to win.

Cant believe the match I have just seen Simo v Kanepi ! :spacecadet: :puzzled
Poor SImona had to work like a dog to win this insane match against a most insane and amazingly talented player like Kanepi.
I never seen anything like Kanepi, honest. She is so talented but her brain is all over the place. Its like she is an autistic tourist on the court but one who can create amazing shoots.
Every time she was in danger of a break with one point left, she was raising her level of play "in a push of a button" ! Simona converted about 4 out of 20 break points! :puzzled Kaia was always playing better under pressure of a break.
She is so weird, why getting there?... She has a huge serve and a great baseline game.
If her brain was in the right place she would have done so much more on the tour.

I feel sad and sorry for Kanepi for her lost career. She should have been top 10 and winning big events if her head was working. Amazing tennis talent. What a waste :(

Simona had to dig so deep. I didnt think she will win this match.
Only her fighting spirit won her this crazy match.
Haide Simona :)

And on other note,
Well done to the Qatar Slicer :D Monica Nikulesku ! The slicer is going places into R3 :D

Will Sori be the Third Romanian in the last 16? Its hard to believe but the team spirit is still there with her. She fought and won yesterday only because of this team spirit. :)

Yikes. I step away again and the match is over. Wicky has dispatched Caro in two tight sets. And there's still another match to play tonight on CC.

Slumpy - sorry to say. Caroline didn't play well today. It's not easy to see any optimism around Caroline. Again she has A LOT of breakpoints and are not using them - hope she can get hold on something before Indian Wells otherwise she'll slip down the rankings. Well maybe it's neccessary for Caroline to get a "wake-up call" of some sort. Not an easy job to be a fan right now - well in good and bad times I back her up. Hope now that Agie can bring back a little joy in the old mixer (that's me because I like Little Mix :))

In a year when Ana beats Serena for the first time, why not Yannina over Caro?

This year will be most interesting for WTA

Woz's dad did the on court coaching. Why not the coach that was hired? Does he not realize her game is not good enough to win a major, and someone else needs to take over her development?

Thats exactly the problem. She is just going through the motions and doesnt fight or feel the match anymore. I dont laugh at her or something like that, I just remember her when she was NO.1 and she was fighting for every point... She needs to start playing Tennis again if you know what I mean...

Yanina sent a warning message yesterday when she beat a Petka in a very good form. Petka beat Dominika few days ago. No one listen... Thats what happens when we judge by past images, rankings and all that blah blah.. "the time is now".. :)

See how Sorana fights at the start with self believe! Its all thanks to the boot camp in Budapest with all her friends in the Romanian team. Its called team spirit. :)

I am still in shock after the Halep-kanepi match. It was such an insane and unpredicted match with two special players. Thank god "we" won :) It was like a roulette out there. Only the fight of Simo won the match, not her tennis.

Its great first two rounds in Qatar with players who win when they fight and are in form.
Names dont win matches. Ask Anna, Sloane, Genie, and the rest of the company... ;)

Sorana holds her own 3-2. I told you she will be tough! :) Its only because of the Budapest mood!
The Romanian team played there 4 matches in 5 days, in noise while other 3 matches are played few meters besides them, no "stars dust", just grinding wins and fighting, a tennis boot camp. A humbling experience for the players which made them tougher.

Come-on Sorana, don't be like Caro, take those break chances and convert them.

At least she gave a good fight in 1st set, hard to see her stopping Aga. The Aga computer works better ;)
But I am sure she has improved because she fights more and believes in winning in the future matches.
Sori understands now the importance of the fight. Thats a good quality in any sport.

3-0 down 2nd set and she is almost in tears, poor Sori :(

Definitely some tears there from her as Aga feeds her a bagel. Tennis can be so cruel sometimes. :(

The sad thing is, soon as we put someone's picture up(that includes you Si Si), they lose and leave.

BUT... we need to remember that its just sports. Sometimes we take things too seriously and we get too emotional.

I wouldnt trust her to bring you the results that you hope for ;) but I like her too and she is a nice girl :) lets see if she continues to get results. I doubt that not because I am a cynical person but because of her results in the past.
