I'm giving this post a *bump*, as I promised @El Dude.

Not mentioned here are Jarry, even Fritz and Tommy Paul, Americans who went deep in Rome. All potential spoilers. Does Jarry make it into the Dark Horse category? If De Minaur is, I think Jarry should be.
In the big picture, I should have definetely mentioned Jarry. But for some reason I tought he was ranked higher than 16 (he is not), and I was focused on low seeds and floaters.

Good News, ( Sky Sports Italy)

Jannik has been training now in MC with his full team ( Darren Cahill included) and his sessions have gone well and he will travel to Roland Garros today.

Carlos Alcaraz will travel to Paris tomorrow

Actually @mrzz, he is officially listed as the 16th ranked player in the world as May 20th. RG draw will use the players rankings as of May 20th. Therefore, any of the Top 4 seeds can draw Jarry in the R16 which is actually huge.

Not too many have longevity when living out Daddy's dreams... Graf and Agassi are probably the exceptions to the rule. Connors had the dominant mother. Most tend to burn out when they break free from the apron strings.
That's something I promised my kids , I would NEVER be a bad Daddy or parent..too bad for players like Tomic and Dokic.

If Nadal is healthy and plays at 50% of his level then he will win his 15th RG title without dropping a set! :check-mark:

Thank you for reading. :approved

I agree with the assessment on Rafa. Even though he won AO 2022, he didn't exactly light the world on fire during the clay season that year. He suffered an injury at Indian Wells, and quite frankly, he wasn't the same player ever again (as seen by his performance getting progressively worse as the year went on). But the French Open was wide open that year. Rafa did struggle in the early rounds, and was even on the verge of losing his 4th round match to FAA. Then, he found his vintage form, putting on a masterful performance against Djokovic in the quarterfinal en route to another French Open title.
Maybe it's because on the Toni Nadal factor but I thought that final set was the BEST clay court or really any tennis set I have ever seen between the two players..FAA committed on 3 or 4 UFEs and Rafa had about 11-13 winners .

Stats on 21st Birthday (in order of PEP):

Nadal (96): 22 titles, 9 Masters, 3 GS, best rank #2
Alcaraz (67): 13 titles,5 Masters, 2 GS, best rank #1
Djokovic (49): 10 titles, 4 Masters, 1 GS, best rank #3
Zverev (19): 7 titles, 2 Masters, no Slam QF+, best rank #3
Rune (17): 4 titles, 1 Masters, 3 Slam QFs, best rank #4
Sinner (13): 6 titles, 3 GS QFs, best rank #9
Federer (11): 3 titles, 2 Slam QF, best rank #8
Tsitsipas (9):
3 titles, 1 Slam SF, best rank #15
Murray (8): 5 titles, no Slam QF+, best rank #8

The above is just a way of pointing out that Rune is sort of typical of a young player with great potential, at the point he's at age-wise. He's been solidly better than Federer, Murray and Tsitsipas, a bit better than Sinner. Close to Zverev (not that that's a good thing).
