Novak is really feeling the ball today, could go up 5-1 in the first. Stan is playing well too. It will be hard for anyone to beat Novak.

Up 5-1. This is a clinic in indoor tennis. His return is so effective on this surface.

First set done at 6-1 in less than half an hour. I wish there were more fast court tournaments like this. Bring back carpet!

Sounds good, Riotbeard! I like the way Nole looks this week. He flashed that young de Niro smile yesterday against the Tall Tree and he looks like he's enjoying this swing of the season...

Nice to see Novak playing good tennis again, it does seem he will be tough the next couple weeks.

Great spot Kieren on the young deniro, I never noticed it but he does look very taxi driver.

What a set from Djokovic, that was some of the best stuff I've ever seen from him. Flawless and comanding from the baseline and sharp and relentless at the net. He displayed some sort of swagger even Travis Bickle (kudos to kieran for that mention) would be proud of, lol. He made Stan look like a junior out there. Though I have to say Stan seems a bit deflated mentally and physically after just having qualified for London and fulfilling his ultimate dream. He's going through the motions a bit and his mind is already in the 02 arena. However I just wondered whether or not it is really worth the effort for Djokovic, Delpo, Nadal, Roger etc. to go all the way here since the winner on sunday will have to play his first group match on tuesday already. What an unbelievable nonsense to put Paris-Bercy the week before the YEC and thus forcing the top players to either tank or play in auto pilot mode. :cover

Does anyone know if it a good tactic to go deep centre all the time on Stan? Seems like Novak's tactic and with Stans movement wouldnt it be better to look for angles?

Zoned out and Novak is a break up. Maybe I should not be watching.

I keep my missus from watching Rafa during the slams. Worked during Paris and Flushing Meadows.

Nole seems in Boss-mode today. No messing about with a guy who gave him trouble at the slams...

Good for Nole, now it is time for Roger to show he can still play. I change my mind and predict an upset today. Just needs to remember who the F he is.

I think the conditions are ripe for an upset, if Roger locates his game. DP looked a bit jaded yesterday and the surface will help Roger. If he wins, it's his first match with Nole this year, is it?

Yes it would be. No prayer vs. Nole at this point as Roger isn't going from 0-60 in 5 seconds. But DP is a couple notches below Djokovic...

It would be better for Fed to have his resurgence at Oz or even at Wimbledon, but I can see it happening today.

Beating DP to make a semi of an MS event isn't a resurgence, it is a sign of life. And we haven't seen a legit sign of life since Rome if that even counts.

Boy, I do too. Indoor carpet or even a parquet floor. The faster the better. The shots sound as if they have been launched from a cannon on such courts! Fire!

Me three.

I miss that old fast-hands stuff from fast-grass and indoors tennis. However, I doubt things will change. Imagine if they went back to the really old linoleum courts - that'd sort the men from the boys, right?

Roger is playing some good tennis atm. He's been pretty comfortable on serve and is getting into Delpo's service games. I'm hoping we don't see the sudden drop off we've been seeing lately.
