I am hoping Gulbis can take this one.

Isn't it the case that only French guys are allowed to win this tourney?

Heh, quite true. Let's hope this year will be different!

in the last 8 years, this event had 5 times French champions: Tsonga (2), Llodra, Simon and Clement.
The others were: DelPotro, Soderling and Murray. Even Roger won it in 2003.

Ernie takes the first set 6-3, but just donated his serve and 2nd set on an error 5-7. Got a good ole fashioned racquet abuse warning and Bautista-Agut will serve first in the decider.

And he just held off Gulbis, who had break chances. Still on serve, with Ernie serving at 2-3 now. ¡Vamos Roberto!

in a surprise match between 2 players outside of the top 100, Llodra and Struff, the lesser known Struff prevailed in straight sets.
He meets Tsonga in the SF.

I saw that. Struff has been making a name for himself here and there. And he should enter the Top 100 in rankings next week.

This is turning out to be a very interesting week. Several unknowns strutting their stuff across the globe.

Tsonga wasn't so good yesterday vs injured EEV, he has to increase his level today, this Struff seems to be a dangerous guy

EEV? Did you mean Roger-Vaselin? When did he get injured?

Ernie dismissed with ease top seed Richie 6-3, 6-2, while Tsonga beat Struff in a tight one: 7-6, 7-5.
Tomorrow an important final, Tsonga to trepeat or Gulbis to make a big step forward.

Sincerely hope Gulbis wins. About time the guy shifted gears and started to win some titles although he's had a good week either way.
