If I tried that, I'd probably throw my back out for a week.

Possibly Youzhny too. Karlovic is old in tennis terms but seeing as his game is mostly just serve I think he'll hang around a while, but maybe not.

You probably have missed it, Nieminen has announced his retirement by the end of this season, back in June.

This clearly shows how great Aussie bad boy Tomic is. :snicker

Tomic = compared to his fellow Aussie (Nick).
During the semifinal, Annacone was detailing why Tomic was able to keep up with Novak (at least for that set). It was a lot of fun to see those two striking the ball the way they were. Bernie should be hugely motivated by what he did. Maybe that will translate into improved fitness and movement. It would be nice if he could turn things around and fulfill some of his potential.
shawnbm said:I knew that stat about Federer, but not that Novak was within shouting distance--that is extraordinary. For some reason, Nadal has never had that kind of streak in the majors--he's always been more prone to the upset or lost to folks who did not become the champion a la Tsonga or Murray. Now, all this means is that Novak and Roger had more concentrated sustained periods at the top of majors than Rafael when he was top dog. Each are now firmly entrenched in the top eight or better of all time in all likelihood.
