Let's see how the politician wiggles his way out of this one.

By that example Nadal at 28 as an older guy should be losing to Coric who is 17. Should be interesting when they play at RG!

Roger in 4 was the dominant pick by everyone including you, Kieran :p

Yep, I chose Roger to win, and I explained why. That isn't the same as saying he "should" win. That's a different matter. Nole rose to the occasion and won - as he "should", when playing an older guy. I didn't have much confidence in Nole going into that final...

And he has an answer for everything :) washed up Roger on grass is still about on par with everyone else. Roger didn't do well in "getting it to 5" that seemed like a worst-case scenario going into the match. It certainly was after he won the first set.

Nadal is 28, Roger is 33 this week. Huge difference between Nadal playing a rookie and Roger facing Novak.

Lads: Nole won that match, he coulda won the first set, he coulda been outta there in four. Yes, before the match I thought Roger would win, because nothing Nole did up til then spelt "CHAMP."

But he did the job, albeit going to five against a great champ who maybe hasn't got a long match like this in him. I thought Roger did great to roll back the years, and Nole was exceptional in overcoming his panic...

^ Rolled back the years?? I must have blinked and missed it. And on the flip side Roger could have won the 3rd and supplied some resistance in the 5th. It was a tight match and predictably Roger's opponent won a tight match as Roger usually loses those it. If it was going to be straightforward it'd have been Roger winning an that's what many expected. It is Roger on grass after all.

You also forgot Roger donated the 3rd set TB but could just as easily have been the one to go up 2 sets to 1 there. That was an abysmal 3rd set TB by Roger, second only to the atrocity at Indian Wells where he hit 6 unforced errors in a row or something like that after playing great before the tiebreak. Novak sure got a huge boost there and had Roger won that 3rd set he may well have cruised in the 4th.
