To think you consider him the GOAT and want him to withdraw from the semis lol. Why on earth would he do that? To protect his h2h against Federer? 'cos I can't think of any other reason as withdrawing makes zero sense when it gives you no chance of winning the title...
I don't think nadal will withdraw he play but its already job done with year end no.1 so its hope zverev wins so nadal can leave this trash event.

Exactly. Federer and Nadal don’t withdraw unless it’s absolutely necessary. They’re not afraid of facing each other, nevertheless other tough opponents, such as Novak.

If anyone wants proof, consider Roger fighting like crazy to win the 2011 RG SF — knowing he was going to face Rafa in the final, and knowing how that was almost certainly going to end. But did he give up, and let Novak win? Absolutely not. For Rafa, consider how many times he’s won matches for several years now, knowing he’s going to face Roger or Novak in the next round.

No, the idea of withdrawing, and being scared, and not wanting to be there to play others of the Big 3 is in certain fans’ minds, not theirs.

Yes the h2h.
Sadly it looks like Ziraffe will win.
An absolute perfect tournement of the Ox, played mediocre, wins two matches, keeps no 1 and didn’t have to face Novak or Roger. Winning the whole was never an option. Couldn’t went better for him.

Well if Zverev wins he won't get to play anyway.

Class inside out forehand there by Medvedev. Hit it very flat and fast.

If Medvedev had won, you were going to find a silver lining as well. What were you going to say if Medvedev had won? Be honest.

Zverev seems to be back on track, and Medvedev maybe come back down to earth a bit. Both are challengers at the AO, though, or at least darkhorses.

just watched the Federer - Djokovic match. I must say the way Roger celebrated the victory didn't make me thing he's ready to stop just yet. Still I would be amazed if he doesn't pack it all in at the end of next year, or at least tell us he'll pack it in at the end of the next year.

you have to laugh at us Fed fans. We're disappointed these days if our boy doesn't get a shot against Nadal off clay. I feel a bit cheated too!

I think all true fans of tennis are disappointed. Who doesn’t want to see Fedal again? The ticket buyers certainly wanted it, the promoters, the advertisers & TV channels, etc. Fedal is big bucks, and rightly so.
