Well, Vesely crushed Melzer 6-1 6-1 to reach his first main tour semi final. Karlovic leads Monaco by a break in the next match.

Rain delay at Nice, last I saw Leo Mayer and Montanes were at 5-5 in the first set.

Dr Ivo eliminated former champion Monaco. 6-4, 3-6, 6-3. Surprisingly there were no TB's.
This way, this new event, in his second year will have a new champion, because Monaco was the defending champion.
As a result, Monaco will plummet to a projected 76 ranking.
Karlovic will play Vesely for a place in the final. This is like one of the most oldest guys vs. one of the most youngest. (35 vs. 20)

^ I thought that was a surprising result. In Nice, I saw that Gulbis, after being down in the 3rd, and Tursunov serving for it, got it to a TB and won that match. Didn't see any of it, though. TC is rerunning the Nadal-Djokovic SF at RG from last year.

Kohlschreiber's match with Delic was suspended at 7-5 4-4 due to poor lighting. They'll finish that tomorrow now.

Nice SFs are Delbonis v Simon and Montanes v Gulbis. Isner and Tursunov both served for their matches before losing in third set breakers.

I hope Kohlscreiber can make short work of Delic so that he at least has a chance in his SF v. Istomin, later in the day.

A Delbonis/Gulbis final would be fun. Hope they win their SFs tomorrow.

I watched a bit of Delbonis/Isner on the Tennis Channel. Isner really imploded at the end, but credit to Delbonis for staying in there mentally after blowing a MP in the second set. Great forehand to win the first set, too.

I'm gonna pick Gulbis as my WC for Paris. I think the guy is due a run. It's a random thing. It just happens like that. A man goes running, and then he stops. He'll run in Paris to the quarters and that'll keep him happy for a year. If he wins here, playing three-setters all the way, it might give him a bit of self-belief and resolve in gay Paree...

A QF in a slam will not keep him happy. He wants to be numero uno:cool:

Very surprised that Kohli's h2h against Istomin going into today was 0-4. That 0 is one set away from being replaced with a 1.
