One potential big name coach is apparently off the market.

I don't think Gruden will come back. Coaching is stressful. He gets the best of both worlds from the booth. He can travel, still stay apart of the game, spends time on TV and gets paid a pretty penny.

Agreed, I really like him in the booth too. Among other things, Gruden doesn't hold back when certain players are sucking, thus he had a field day last night.

Alright last week kind of sucked the wind out of my sails for NFL season but I will keep going with the Pick Em. Not giving up on GB yet but that was a crushing loss and one we will look back on as perhaps costing them their season.

Anyways, week 16:

Tennessee @ Jags (Thursday) - Going with the Jags. Jags have kept a lot of games close while Tennessee seems to be the worst team in the NFL at this moment.

Eagles @ Redskins (Saturday) - Going with the Eagles but just barely. We are seeing more and more that Eagles with the scrub Sanchez is barely a .500 team. Washington stinks but at home and in a division game they will probably keep this close.

San Diego @ San Fran (Saturday) - Chargers fighting for their lives and San Fran's season is over. How much pride do they have? Not much this season. This is a circumstance game and that's why I'm going with San Diego. If SF was alive I'd be going with them.

Minnesota @ Miami - Miami
Baltimore @ Houston - Baltimore
Detroit @ Chicago - Detroit
Cleveland @ Carolina - Wheels fell off in Cleveland just when you thought they might be legit...Carolina

Atlanta @ New Orleans - Will probably decide that God awful division. Going with New Orleans
Green Bay @ Tampa - GB needs to win out, they also should've realized how huge Buffalo was so maybe they will come out awful again. But what gives me confidence here is that Tampa is in a position that they want to lose...Rodgers should be pissed after wetting the bed in a huge game last week. So going with the Packers. If they lose to the Bucs they don't deserve to make the playoffs.

Kansas City @ Pittsburgh - Tough one to call. Pitt is so up and down but I trust Big Ben in a big game more than Alex Smith. Pitt will take this one.

New England @ Jets - Pats
Giants @ Rams - Rams
Buffalo @ Oakland - Buffalo
Colts @ Cowboys - See above for SD-San Fran. This is another circumstance game. Dallas has a lot on the line and the Colts are going to be locked in the #3 or #4 seed and don't have nearly as much to play for. In the AFC there isn't much difference between #3 and #4 as it is equally daunting playing in New England as it is playing in Denver. So I'm going with Dallas, on a normal Sunday it'd be the other way.

Seattle @ Arizona - All the marbles on the line and Arizona has their 3rd string. Even if it was Stanton this would be easy to call for Seattle. Seahawks are hot and they know what's at stake. This will be something like 17-6 for Seattle.

Denver @ Cincy - Going with Cincy to pull off the upset. Realistically Denver isn't catching New England for #1 with 2 gimme games left for the Pats. Cincy on the other hand will be desperate to try to hold onto the division. Week 16 & 17...circumstance games.

Second tier franchise even with Rodgers at qb. You wouldn't see elite franchises like New England, Seattle or denver lose to the lowly bills on the road in such a huge game. Most likely another wasted year with Rodgers in his prime...

The Bills defense is actually pretty talented and they were prepared because Schwartz is their defensive coordinator and he knows the Packers well.

Green Bay's problem is that their receiving corps is sorely inadequate.

I know Buffalo has a great defense and Schwartz is familiar with GB but usually Rodgers shredded Detroit like everyone else. There were a lot of problems last Sunday, Rodgers was horrible, worst I've seen him by a wide margin and the receivers did suck. 7 drops including a 94 yard go ahead touchdown to Nelson.

Yeah, but Buffalo is a tough place to play if you're not used to it and you're going in there in December. Add to that the problem of the Packers not having a big, prototypical #1 who can make physical catches in a slower-paced game, and you have a problem.

The Packers' front office could not have seriously thought in the offseason that they had a good chance of beating Seattle or San Fran on the road in the playoffs with Jordy Nelson as their #1 wide receiver - or could they have?

Playing in Buffalo should not be an issue for Rodgers and GB. It's a hell of a lot colder in Green Bay in December and January. The weather last Sunday was nearly 40 with decent amount of wind, a non factor.

No team has a good chance beating Seattle on the road especially in the playoffs. GB might have the best chance just based on who they have at QB but I sure as heck wouldn't bet on it. GB lost their best chance of reaching the Super Bowl this year and I'd have taken them over whoever is coming out of the AFC.

Didn't see the action today but San Fran couldn't even hold onto a 21 point lead at home. The end of this season can't come soon enough. And Philly pretty much is eliminated after losing to Washington.

Looks like Jim is out in Frisco. After this season, they're probably wishing they'd kept Alex.

Indeed Cali. I will admit I was a bit wrong about Pittsburgh. They are a dangerous team, still tough to see past either Denver or New England reaching the Super Bowl but I think Pitt is the most likely to upset the apple cart.

I also was unaware of this until today; if GB wins next week they are the 2 seed even if Dallas wins. I thought if there was a 3 way tie between GB, Dallas and Seattle that GB would be the 3 seed. So that is a pleasant surprise. If Detroit wins I think they would be the 1 seed, whoever loses is the 6th seed and will play @ Dallas in round 1. A lot on the line to say the least.

EDIt: I hear that Seattle wins the #1 seed if there is a 3 way tie even if it is with Detroit and Dallas. I thought it goes to division record and since Detroit would be 6-0 if they beat GB I thought they'd get the 1 seed.

Disagree in regards to Alex Smith. They'd basically be a weaker version of Kansas City right now, weaker as in they don't have Charles at RB in San Fran. They had the year they reached the NFC title game with Smith but the defense was outstanding that year, it was never going to be the case this year due to injuries and suspensions.

Seattle getting home-field or not getting home-field is hugely important. But that defense can shut anyone down anywhere with how good the secondary is, so much speed and athleticism.

The Steelers are dangerous because of Roethlisberger and the way that Bryant has opened up the offense. But their secondary is very vulnerable and their linebackers are average aside from Harrison.

Beast-quake II: The Sequel gets two thumbs up. GO SEAHAWKS!!!
What the heck happened to the Saints this year? They are terrible.
Dallas is looking good...and the Colts have some serious issues heading into the playophphs.
Detroit won, but I just don't trust 'em. Packers to win the division.
Big loss phor Baltimore. The Texans are no slouches, though. Get 'em a good QB and they could be pretty damn good.

Am really looking phorward to week 17 games. Panthers at Phalcons, Lions at Packers, Chargers at Chiephs, Bengals at Steelers, and of course "Hands Up. Don't Shoots." at SEAHAWKS. I CAN'T WAIT!!!
