Stefanos plays Munar in the first match. They play 5 sets, in each set the winner needs to win 4 games.

No thread for this? I wonder if this is indicative of this tournament not being quite as alluring as the ATP is hoping. I wonder if they should throw in some points, maybe 300, to make it more legit.

Anyhow, Tsitsipas vanquishes Munar, Rublev beats Fritz in a five-setter, Tiafoe currently up over Hurkacz 2 sets to none.

I thought there are points awarded for this? Regardless it's a dumb little event that should not have any points. I don't have the slightest interest and I'm guessing I'm not alone.

I am ok with the event per say. It is a good idea to promote the youngsters. Gets them publicity and also for the game of tennis.
But, I don't like these silly formats of 4 game sets etc that they indulge in here. If points are going to be awarded, it should be
formatted just like WTF

^I agree. I would change to WTF formatting and add points - something between a 250 and 500.

^Haha, I guess it slipped my mind. Anyhow, as a distinct tournament, I suppose it is worth having its own thread.

I had this feeling that this was a tester event to see about making ATP events go this route to shorten matches! Wouldn't bother me!

:hunting: Heresy! I thought you were old skool!

Not bad as an experiment but don't like the idea that this would ever translate over to the main tour events.

I am old school, but I'm also old period! I can't and won't watch matches that last 4-6 hours anymore! I'm still trying to recover from AO's 5:53 with Nole and Rafa! I was up all day and stayed up to see the match! I was looking forward to Nole continuing his dominance of Rafa after 6 straight wins; 4 in Masters and 2 Majors! It was predictable that Nole would be serving for it in the 4th, then dropped the break, lost the TB, and was then lucky to win it in 5 after Rafa took a lead! I didn't get to bed until 9 AM here in the States! The match probably wiped Djokovic out for the rest of the season allowing Nadal to have a bit of a resurgence thru 2013!    :ptennis:

By the way mate, you can sticky posts (I sent you a PM), seeing as you start so many tourney threads.
