For the prospect of having a good match, a late start is good. It gives Kei time to sleep, rest, get treatments, maybe hit a little. I don't like late starts to matches because the tennis players body clock isn't tuned to play at midnight, no matter where they are, but this one isn't too extreme...

Thanks Kieran! You are one of the best posters.

I know that you are a friendly bunch. :D That´s why I finally got enough nerve up (as a shy person this is huge for me) to post here. If I had to devote time posting (well, truth be told more reading, less posting :)) at a forum, it had to be with a friendly bunch.

Why is the match going to be played so late?

Because is in Spain. They have siesta. They are as traditional as in London. You do not "work" when is hot, and the parties, prime time is late in the night.

I'm sure Spain didn't start having siestas this year, which makes the timing of this final all the more puzzling since last year's final, as well as all the other finals played in Madrid since it was moved to clay were never played this late.

I voted Rafa in 3, although I think Rafa in 2 is more likely. I could see it being something like 6-4, 6-1, but wanted to give respect to Kei for his performance yesterday. I think he'll be out of gas and Rafa's clay confidence has risen.

^ Probably time to buy a new crystal ball. :snigger

I believe Kskate has the patented one, and she went Nadal in straights.

K doesn't even pick WTA matches anymore, how can one even test a crystal ball without WTA matches?

When K picked a WTA match, she picked Simo against Masha in 3!!

If you're going to put me on Front street you should at least be accurate about it. During the QF, I picked Simona to defeat Petra in SF and meet Maria in the finals where I said she would defeat Maria.

Now Moxie is right, I am a bonafide seer in these parts. I told you last year to retire your garage sale special. :D

That's a great point. This will hopefully serve him well.

Thanks britbox for the welcome! I sure miss your favorite player playing this tournament. But to be with his family (WOW, two sets of identical twins, amazing! He sure doesn´t do things by halves, tennis or otherwise :laydownlaughing) is a lot more important than anything in life. Good luck on his next tournament. Hope he does well.

Hi kskate2!

Thanks! You are a great poster and a fair moderator:heart:! Nice to be joining you here! Thanks for picking Nadal to win today. Hope you´re right and more importantly hope Nadal plays with confidence today. I will be a happy camper if he puts aside his doubts and just plays on the surface (that he has dominated for a decade) the way he used to do. :D Win or lose, I still love him!:)

Welcome to the boards Goldilocks!

Don't worry about your guy, he is getting better and better, just in time for RG. I think his confidence is creeping up steadily as well. I don't think he is going to give anything away on clay from now on. Someone will have to go take it from him.
