This is the perfect match for Nadal to get through! Usually after a match like this he comes out firing for the rest of the tournament and wins more easily! Go Nadal! :yesyes: :good:

To be fair, AP, he had match point on his own serve. So, while he is rusty, Nadal should have finished this match a long time ago.

But that is the memo for Nadal since he turned 30, he has difficulties closing on matches.
It works both ways my friend Obi Wan played well and Rafa wasnt hitting the ball as clean as normal. Still have to give Obi Wan credit

Definitely Nadal had a bad day today.

But just curious, wha makes you think Alcaraz cant have a bad day tommorow?
It's not necessarily Alcaraz having a bad day, but based on form, venue (altitude), and Nadal coming off from rib inury, Alcaraz should able to beat Nadal tomorrow IF both players at the same even level.

By the way, I said that even before Nadal returns to Madrid, the ideal situation for Nadal is to lose in the QFs, rest a little bit, then go straight to Rome.

Also, I will not get upset if Nadal does win tomorrow or the tournament. I am just being realistic based on his past experiences in Madrid.

Wow! Rafa thought he'd be off the court an hour ago! Had a couple MP's against Goffin, then he's fighting for his life in the 3rd set! :face-with-hand-over-mouth: :face-with-tears-of-joy::partying-face:

Update:

I don't ever want to hear from Rafa or sycophants about a bad foot or anything w/ this jerk jumping around, gesticulating & screaming "VAMOS!"

For Rafa fans I am a lover of stats....I just found this stat for Rafa in Madrid regarding the 10 TBs he has played in his career there.
Rafa has won all of them :)

Okay we are going 3 sets Norrie won the 2nd set t/breaker 76 (4)
I love Alcaraz game but going forward he needs to work on his serve, it went missing in the t/break when he needed it, Norrie returned well.
