Probably because they're not friends even though they love to make it seem so! The last top players that truly liked each other was from a long time ago; McEnroe, Borg, Gerulaitis, & Connors! Sampras & Agassi hated each other's guts! Edberg had no love for Becker! Lendl was on everyone's "hate list;" esp. Conners & McEnroe!
The Medvedev match was tricky, because while Daniil could be understandably fatigued, you are still talking a veteran experienced player. It's weird because sometimes those type of matches Medvedev had versus Zverev, surviving MP's, etc. actually relax the player enough. I hope Medvedev takes out of this that he can hang on the red dirt.
LIttle Holger has now beaten 10 top ten players while still in his teens. We forget how rare that is because of how quickly Alcaraz also accomplished this , but it actually doesn't happen that often. Rafa maybe 18 years ago? Before that (calling El Dude..) we have to go back to the mid 80's with Stefan Edberg and Boris Becker to have two teenagers ranked in the top ten who had that many wins against top ten opponents before turning 20.

Medvedev has withdrawn from Barcelona which is no surprise, I am starting to watch his match against Rune, already he looks dead tired to me, clay has a habit of doing that to you, if you are not a seasoned clay player Meddy lol!
