Not that it matters, but two big seeds from Ralph's side have fallen down on dirt already.

It doesn't really matter. You're talking about Cilic and Shapo. Not really dirt guys. Wawrinka wasn't seeded, but if he's not on form, he wasn't a big threat. Actually Cecchinato and Pella are much more dangerous on clay, though they have to play each other. Dimitrov up next, but let's face it...

Nishikori was the highest seeded opponent in Ralph's half. He is gone too. I was talking about him and Cilic primarily, not Shapo.

But, I agree that none of this matters.

Oh, right, Nishikori. Sadly, he's here and gone so fast anymore that I basically just forgot about him.

Nadal seem to be moving well. Expected result against RBA on this venue... RBA hits too flat to have a chance against Nadal here... You need to have del Potro/Soderling level of power if you want to have a small chance against Nadal on clay playing that flat. At the end of set 1 RBA had 0 (zero) winners to his name.

Nishikori was the runner up in MC last year.
It does not matter as far as the potential winner is concerned, but I am sure mattered to him, as he lost a load of points.

Happy the clay season started. Just saw some of Djokovic - Fritz. Looking forward to the Medvedev match, will be a good test also considering their AO encounter this year.

Zverev has potential to hurt Rafa here but I the end will lose. I'm thinking Thiem has a better chance against Rafa than Djokovic here. But watching Rafa yesterday he looked awesome. I don't think he's beatable here..

An Italian qualifier Lorenzo Sonego seems to have his best tourney to date.
He defeated in the main draw Seppi, Khachanov and today Norrie.

Rafa looked awesome at the AO too, worked out well in the final. I hope they meet in the final, would be nice to see where they are at since AO and this time on clay.

Good for Dusan Lajovic to defeat Thiem in straight sets.

Nadal has to improve his game and level, it's not easy to comeback of an injury and more mentally because they lose the confidence. He is plying well but no too good. His next match is going to be tougher but it will help him to get better level which also will help him for the next tournaments though I hope he skips Madrid or Roma
