Fatigue, more than anything with Dimitrov.

And it's Mid-Court Ralph out there today, isn't it? And sometimes Mid-Mid-Court...

Good wake-up call for the 8 time winner. Dimitrov was able to expose areas that need tuning. Tio Toni will be sure to address them.

Exactly. You get matches like this over a long reign in one place and all credit to Dimitrov for not sticking to the script...

^This. (Both). I hadn't seen a lot of Dmitrov, just been hearing the hype. And I thought he was a brat. Today he played with great calm and confidence. Nadal was lucky he ran out of gas.

Spot on nehmeth, Toni is gonna work on Rafa's 1st serve, his lack of follow thru on his backhand and probably feeding Rafa numerous of slice balls.. BTW, great match by Dimitrov.. its good to see someone with so much acclaimed potential finally taken advantage of it. However, I dont need him pushing my underdawg Rafa like that. Not this Day.. not this day. Vamos Rafa

Nieminen has a fan?

Yes... around 2006/2007 he had made his way up to 15 in the world. I enjoyed watching him play. Then the injury bug bit and he never fully returned to where he was before. It was nice to see him take the furry giant's scalp yesterday.

So the question F3 v. Gasquet, whadya think?

I think F3 wins this in a match that more resembles the WTA...

LOL! I'm rooting for Fognini, even thought the H2H isn't in his favor. (BTW, I didn't see him play Berdych yesterday...was Berdy off, or just great from the Fog?)

I agree w/ Kieran. I think the Fog takes it in some mindless grinding, slicing and moonball points. By the way, there's no way I'm buying F3 is 5'10". He looks 5'7" at best.

no way, he barely came up to RG shoulder at the net. Maybe he is an Itailian 6 ft tall. :D(I am legitimate 6 ft 180 lbs and I when i was in Italy, the italians considered me a huge linebacker type of monster). Trust me , the clothing sizes for men are a lot smaller than it here in the US.

I'm thinking (hoping, actually) that this event will pan-out as follows...

QF: Djokovic def. Nieminen
QF: F3 somehow finds a way to beat Gasquet
QF: Nadal def. Dimitrov
QF: Wawrinka def. Tsonga

SF: F3 advances to the final via a walkover from Djokovic (has to save the ankle for more important events)
SF: Wawrinka def. Nadal for the win of his life.

Final: F3 def. Wawrinka because of a huge letdown by Wawrinka.

Sound good to you? Sounds great to me!

:) Congrats on Fognini. Your scenario is still more or less possible. Would be pretty hilarious if it would turn out that way.

For women too. The shoe sizes are quite small as well. I've been to Italy a few times and I've given up buying shoes there, end up w/ a nice leather handbag instead.

First game a battle here between Djokovic and Nieminen, and good quality from both.

Game should have been long over though. Nieminen's ball on breakpoint was wide.

Nole is definitely testing Nieminen's legs pulling him from one side to the other.

Did you notice Nieminen in the 2nd game begin going for Nole's forehand more? Testing his movement on that ankle.

@ work unfortunately, so only getting an occasional peek. Saw the first three games. Can't blame him for the strategy, and its not like the backhand is the weaker side either... But I think Novak is looking good so far.

meh, his movement is slightly off I guess.

What was that little applause for?

Wow, nice way to seal the break. I think Nieminen might need to reconsider his strategy :)

You have to feel that in this one, the first set is the match, if Novak wins it...

:dodgy: Yeah, but you gotta figure in: he might be so overjoyed at finally winning a first set, he has a let down in the 2nd..

Nole's no kid, he doesn't do 'overjoy' when he wins a set against a Nieminen... ;)

Good bye and thank you for playing Nieminen.
