Is anyone watching the Djokovic vs. Monaco match? I'm hearing that Djokovic's ankle is bothering him right now.

I have been watching. It is definitely bothering him, but to what degree is hard to gauge. It is now one set all. His movement sometimes looks pretty good, sometimes not. I can't see him surviving Rafa like this or even Delpo probably.

Thanks for the reply, riotbeard. Let's hope his ankle doesn't get too swollen as the tournament goes on.

He has played better as the match goes on.

Novak spotting all these players the 1st set is a risky way to go about business.

I know he has played better but that ankle can still hurt him a long the way. Let's just hope he will be okay.

Watched most of the match... he avoided sliding like he normally does (even on hard courts). As a fan, I'm protesting his even being at this tournament. If he's having pain, I certainly hope he withdraws.

nehmeth, that's what I have posted before the tournament that he should've withdrawn from the tournament. With a sore ankle, you never what damage you can do to your ankle.

Nieminen defeats Delpo in three sets. Delpo was serving for the match but couldn't convert it. Somewhere out there Nole is smiling because he avoided facing Delpo and he will get a tired Nieminen tomorrow. Also, from the looks of it, we might see Djokovic vs. Nadal this upcoming Sunday.

6-1, 6-2 Stan crushes the Scot. Andy drops out of #2 with this loss.

Wow! That was quite short-lived. A little ironic, too, considering Roger isn't even in MC.

I wouldn't have bet a penny on Nieminen taking down DP.

Several unexpected results so far at this tournament. (Dare I even look at the draw challenge?)

To say the least. Although Murray losing to Wawrinka is more a minor than a huge surprise considering that Wawrinka won their two previous matches on clay. It's more the margin by which he lost that's surprising. Andy has a lot of improving to do on this performance if he wants to have a good claycourt season.

You passed Moxie, haha. I am barely keeping hold of 3rd worst. This has definitely been a tough one to call. i am only doing less than last place because i picked djokovic and against my own wisdom, he is still in it, and the draw continues to open up for him to probably get to the final, all we need is an upset against gasquet, and he will have to face no seeds before the final.

Was pleasantly surprised to see the results this morning (barring Delpo). F3 beat Berdych.. awesome is the word.. Stan beat Andy..awesome is the word again..but awesomest is the score :)
I mean it wasnt really a surprise, we know Andy is prone ro early round exits more than any other of the top 4 and clay is not is best surface, but still it was awesome.

I wish Delpo had pulled thru' though, it wouldn't have harmed him to get some extra ranking points cushion between Him and Berdych but as it is .. he is no. 6.. which is super awesome :)

Wish I'd witnessed Stan dish out that utter beatdown. Hope Magnus Norman can bring him to new and more consistent heights. The AO encounter with Djokovic was by far my favourite match of that tournament. Stan was awesome.

That was the best match, I agree. I felt so disappointed for Wawrinka that couldn't pull it off, yet he didn't deserve the win, either, because ... well, because he didn't win. :s :)

I was thinking about the Magnus Normal factor today, too, of course. I'm not sure of the details, however (i.e., when they will begin working together, etc.), so I don't know when we can legitimately expect to see results. (The same as when Murray began working with Lendl: it would have been ridiculous to have expected a huge impact and noticeable changes in the next tournament, but six months later everyone was looking for them.)

Wow! I can't believe I'm no longer at the bottom. I thought I had a lock on that.

Ditto here! Stan doesn't seem to be too popular here, but I really like the guy. I'd actually like to see him win against Tsonga and play Nadal. Their match last year (Nadal - Wawrinka) was quite close and exciting. I mean winning more than 8 games in a match against Nadal is amost an upset on clay.

What is Norman known for? Getting you in shape and improving mental prowess? I guess that could work for Stan.

Hope so, Denisovich. He worked wonders for Soderling and clay appears to be a good surface for Stan too. Not exactly expecting 2 consecutive RG finals though! Will be interesting to track the progress.
