Mixed Doubles Thread - Wimbledon 2019 Edition

This year mixed doubles will probably have lot more followers than before and so let us have a separate thread.

Here are some interesting (to me) pairs in no particular order.

• Serena and Andy Murray
• Venus and Tiafoe
• Cornet and Mahut
• Stosur and Paes.
• Sablenka and Bopanna
• Melichar and Soares (#1 seed)
• Watson and Kontinen
• BMS and Jamie Murray

I am expecting the winner to be one of the above eight pairs, not withstanding the seedings.

Who do you think will win?

Yeah. She was just asked about it in her presser. She was coy and wouldn't answer it one way or the other. In other words, she probably is playing with him. Since it looks like Venus is not playing doubs, I can only assume she may not be healthy enough to play another event

Venus apparently is healthy enough to play doubs. She's playing mixed w/ Big Foe and they are on the same side of the draw as SerMuzz.

What about Will Muzz which if you put win on the end of it could be used as a question or if you add a t sound on the end of the Muzz & add win could mean Will must win & if they do win then Will Muzz win will have to have yes at the end of it? Will being short for William/s as well as a question word this would be fun. Lol. I love word-play.

That;s what I thought when I looked at the draw,after Jon Wertheim tweeted....maybe she might forgo playing doubles with Murray and let the British player Harriet Dart play instead? Bary plays Harriet tomorrow on centre court.

Can they still change team members at this late date? I thought once any mixed matches were played the teams were finalized.

I think you can change the team if there is a injury or illness,otherwise no.I will check the rule.Anyway Serena and Andy are on tomorrow's play.Usually Jon's tweets are correct? he also mentioned Serena had a 'Royal Engagement' on Saturday,the christening? she was asked the other day and she said she was working.I have just got back from the gym.I will check the rule and post.

If a player has to withdraw through injury or other unavoidable circumstances after the entry deadline,but before the draw,the partner may enter again with another player.

In no case shall any player change partners after the draw has been made unless the draw is remade due to the withdrawl of seeded team.

Jon needs to check his facts before posting on Twitter from now on I will double check his tweets,he is live at Wimbledon,so I do not know where he got this information from regarding Serena and Andy,though he was correct saying their match was cancelled,seeing the Coco match went 3 sets,as Kskate said they could have moved them to another court,though seeing Andy is British,I guess they wanted him and Serena on centre court.
