Bad, bad choices of shots by Gulbis. As Murat pointed out, stupid drop shots. Exciting match but Gulbis really should've won that. What a clown.

I just watched highlights of Roger-Ivo match. Ivo has some seriously soft hands at the net. I don't think the big guy gets enough credit for how good his volleys are.

Yeah, great volleys. The huge wingspan helps too a lot. He hit a lovely DTL forehand too in one point.

Damn Ernie...never fails to disappoint.

Yup, that was a total joke towards the end. Benneteau's a very good player and I actually had a feeling he'd win before it started as Ernie's such a headcase but when Ernie was well ahead in set 3 he really should've closed it out. He missed out on huge points in this tournament. Who would he have played next if he'd won or rather who does Bradley Cooper play next? He wore a baseball cap today as a disguise to not look as much like Bradley Cooper as usual.

He has the wingspan, but what impressed me most is how he was absorbing the power from Roger at the net. Roger, if he is not in a position to pass you, will send a really heavy ball to you just make you hit a tough volley. Ivo just softened those balls on his racket and redirected them nicely for a dropper or something useful.
Big guy, soft hands.

JJ is a similar big guy with soft touch for drop shots and volleys but he completely overuses the droppers and he's a nutjob. Sadly, needs a lot of work.

Come to think of it, Karlovic is like JJ with more brain cells. Better, more sensible approach to volleys, etc and he makes much better use of his huge serve. A lot more variety and placement. JJ has way better movement but uses predictable serving patterns that his opponents soon figure out and completely overdoes it with the dropshots and other poor shot selections.

Poor verdaco lost again. Does not even get to play Fed. Fed's next round opponent
now is Thiemo De Bekker.

I missed the end. Rather a shocker. Gulbis is still a head-case, I guess.

Not sure where this Ebden is coming from. I'll be surprised if we don't get back on serve now.

Ebden's an Aussie. I have to start betting again and backing Murray to lose the first set. He used to do it a lot before and now it's almost every match.

Ebden is Australian.

Murray looks horrible out there. His forehand is in love with the net.

Watching some of these matches, I've been wondering if you've been itching to wager! :snigger
