Just came home to see the last game. Not much to see. How was it front? Any good?

Seems like de Bakker is so content with himself winning the first set against Verdasco he is tanking the second.

I remember when he was supposed to be the next big thing and quickly vaporized into thin air.

Sorry Denis, was away for a while downloading stuff :p Haven't even been watching Gulbis v Benneteau till now. Djokovic did his usual botch job serving at 5-3 for the first set and dropped serve but luckily for him Chardy was in a charitable mood and gave it right back. Both hit some nice shots amongst the slop but overall the match was poor enough. Chardy's first serve % wasn't great and eventhough he likely wasn't making any comeback in set 2, he had the misfortune of twisting his ankle and had to take a 3+ minute MTO. The last game you saw featured fairly slow paced aces that Chardy didn't even attempt to return. Seemed all the taping of his ankle didn't help and he was clearly hobbled. A shame and hope he recovers soon but he was never gonna win anyway.

That's a shame, for him, anyway, but he was kind of holding his own, and it was a fun match to watch.

^ Yeah some nice shots amongst the poor serving from Chardy. Some nice backhand DTL shots from Chardy. He didn't even attempt to return serve in the last game after his ankle was taped up so it was obviously pretty sore. Shame alright. He was doing pretty well in set 2 but really messed up his chance in set 1 though. Gotta capitalize when Djokovic throws in one of these poor service games and gifts you a break but Chardy played a similarly poor game himself right afterwards and gave the right back.

Djokovic's serve was dodgy at times but apart from the game he threw away at the end of set 1 he served his was out of trouble very well.

Benneteau double faults away the set. That's gotta hurt.

^ Yes, Chardy found a chance in the first, and promptly blew it. Even if he hadn't rolled his ankle, he'd probably missed his opportunity to go 3. And even then, I think it was going to take some walkabout from Novak. But Chardy has been playing some nice and more-consistent tennis of late, and I hope the ankle is doesn't hamper him going forward. (Plus, I do like a pretty face. )

Yeah, he somehow fought himself back in the match to prevail in the third. Herios must be pissed, second time de Bakker wins against verdasco though. He has a good serve and an excellent dropshot, but is as mentally strong as Feds slice is effective against Nadal.

Fedster up next. That will definitely be a bridge too far.

Had a feeling Benneteau was going to win it before the match even started and good win for him but Gulbis really screwed up big time there.
