Yep, Rafa has too many points to defense and after to come back of his injury we don´t know how he will play. I don´t care too much about the #1 but about his health, if he feels good he can do well even if he would lose one or two tournaments, it wouldn't be a tragedy .
And about the DC he is going with the team but still nobody knows if he will play singles or doubles or only cheering the team
Rafa should just play one match of singles and play doubles with Feli.. Enough on Nadal.. I dont want to hijack this thread

This time the players can’t complain about the heat like the perevius years, we are inthe 70’s at day time and 60’s at night but a little bit windy, not bad at all.
Kyrgios is the most strange player that I’ve seen, he has a great serve, some very good shots but he likes to do some “new and original shots” which become like a s**t

Can you elaborate the detail of an "idiot"'s decision and whom he disadvantaged?
Do you know the name of the "idiot" ? Umps are known for their mistakes/silly judgements only (the good umps are those 'invisible' at the match), I'm curious if it's the 'famous' one or a new, inexperienced guy.
Yesterday I went to sleep after the match was suspended, but this morning I wake up to find out Tiafoe is still playing but not against Berdych anymore but against Anderson in the 4th! How could it be? Where is the break between matches? Is Tiafoe supposed to be non-stop on court back to back, day after night? I would also call the scheduling guys "idiots". Eventually, ATP website says his result against Berdych was 7-6(1) in the third, but not a word how it happened. Could be there was no one to even report it or perhaps idiots are too ashamed to admit the matches are dragging out of their control.
Fergus Murphy is the idiot. He’s generally awful because he is too meek to control the crowd or players. In this match, Berdych had break point in the third set. He hit a shot that landed on the line. Tiafoe swung as a lineman yelled out. Murphy instructed them to replay, citing interference. Berdych should have gotten the point and would have likely won the match. I’m not a fan of either player so I’m not being blinded by fandom. It annoys me to no end when players get cheated like this. Even when I dislike a certain player who had an unfair call made against him, I hope he eventually wins the game to “erase” the bad call.

This brings me back to my biggest peeve in tennis. Almost in every match, a ball lands on the line, a player swings, and there is debate whether the out call interfered with the swing. This is so ridiculous, I start boiling over. All that needs to be done is to instruct linesmen to wait half a second to yell or not yell at all and raise their hand to indicate an out ball so that players can’t claim interference. The senior tour has a great system in place. Players call their own lines with the ability to challenge. I’m waiting for someone with common sense to do something that will eliminate the most frequent reason for players and umps to get into arguments, but common sense isn’t common, I guess.

Isner's serve looks untouchable. Darren Carhill is saying the Miami surface is playing fast.

Getting breadsticked by Isner should result in an automatic suspension or some other punishment. It just simply should never happen.

I’ve already found out who will play tomorrow evening, at 7pm Zverev vs Coric and later Ostapenko vs Venus Williams or Collins (they are playing now).

Agree 100%. Fergus has the record of controversial or even bad judgements. In this case, it's not his fault that the rules are so silly that they put a pressure of issuing a judgement from him (I bet Tiafoe would complain if he judged otherwise) but I agree in this case he'd done less damage if he judged there was no interference.
The rules for linesmen & umpires must be changed in hawk-eye times. I noticed players started hitting the ball even on an out call, to show that they "have a play" on it, in case of challenge, essentially making each non-winner point longer by one hit. That's a taxing adjustment, but players could make it. So why the linesmen don't make their own adjustment and don't interfere that last extra shot? Otherwise they will screw many more matches like this one. Your proposition for the call adjustment is very good. The issue is just begging resolution. Is ATP listening? If not from mere mortals like us, have someone like Fed say that! Fed is very sensitive to those types of calls and the ump judgements that sometimes defy laws of physics! No doubt they will listen to Fed!

I'm not convinced that that match was decided on one call. It went 3 sets, and down to the wire. Tiafoe had a tight call in the next day that was tough to judge whether it should be a replay (it was) or awarded his point. Also, there were favorable let cords on both sides. I agree that Murphy isn't the strongest ump. But unless they go to full-Hawkeye and no line judges, you're going to see late calls. And hindrance can be a tough call.

There must surely be a reason for the calls not to be late, even if I don't know what it is. If you pay attention, umpires are very quick either to overrule linespeople or to make the call themselves. They make a visible effort to react fast.

I would guess that if you wait that half a second, while in some cases it could be good, in others it just pushes the problem one more shot. The following shot could be a winner, and the player on the other side can then claim he was distracted by the late call. It simply enters woulda/coulda land.

Still, if you (the linesperson) wait, you can start second guessing yourself. Probably reacting on the spot statistically works better. Obviously I am guessing -- someone with experience on umpiring would help a lot here -- my point is that they make so visible an effort to be quick on calls that I figure that there must be a reason to it.

I'm guessing the reason is that they're human. Which is why I rather like them over 100% Hawkeye. Hawkeye also has a percentage ratio of fallibility, but it doesn't fill the court. It's got to be lonely out there for the players. The more people, the better, I'd think.

Is that a bad thing? Federer has had a lot of coaches.
I wouldn’t say it’s bad but 11 coaches at his age I think it’s a little too many changes and still looking to win his first MS and GS.....

Del Potro blinks and Raonic takes the first set.

If del Potro hasn't hit the wall, I still think he takes Milos.

Raonic is solid today, it won't matter.
