Here's an interesting stat: If Sinner wins the Miami Open, he will be in the Top 15 rankings this upcoming Monday. Which means he can avoid Djokovic/Nadal/Thiem until the 4th Round of Roland Garros.
Big ask.....though I will take it lol!

That Bublik is a character. Seems like a good egg. Thrilled for Sinner.

The one thing that Sinner needs to truly improve is his serve. At his height, his serve needs to have more "pop" especially at hard-courts. He is only 19 years old though which means he has a lot of time to improve the serve!

Sinner was a QF at last year’s fall FO under heavy conditions, so he’s no slouch on clay. So it will be interesting to see how he does in the MC/Madrid/Italian run up before Roland Garos.

I was at the Miami Open yesterday and got a chance to see Sinner and Sebastian Korda play their matches and BOTH are mighty impressive. Andy Roddick thinks Korda will be the next big player from USA and Sinner is going to blow by the Fog as Italy's top dog in no time--the youngsters have that air about them. They are cool in the tense moments. Exciting stuff--glad I was there and may well be tomorrow if I can make it.
So excited that you got to actually go and see some tennis, Shawn. And great to see you around. Do let us know if you go again.

I am mentally drained after watching Andreescu in 3 sets matches, one day she might surprise me and win in straights sets.
I am interested to see what Bautista Agut can do against Medvedev.

I think he can give him a fight, but I don't think he'll beat him.

Tight 1st set Bautista Agut wins 6-4....I looked up their H2H and Baustista Agut leads Medvedev 2-0 I hope I have not jinxed him:)

First set to RBA. Medvedev thinks he should be winning this, but he's not. Get over yourself, Meddie. Win it, or don't but stop being petulant. Not a good look. Cue the bathroom break. People can remember that everyone takes a bathroom break when they need a reset. @Front242

You have no bearing on this match. The mustache has more chance of affecting his play. :p I would argue that his insistence on a passive stance would have even more.

And RBA gets a break first game of the 2nd. Medvedev needs to take thing in hand, if he really thinks he can be a future #1.

Memories of Marat Safin.....:)
Safin wasn't a passive player, he was a nut job. Medvedev has a game like a big baller and an inclination to be passive. Sometimes he's neither fish nor fowl. When he's on, he's clever, tricky, and hard to predict. I think, here, he expects to get past RBA, and is falling into passive, protecting the win. He can lose this match with that attitude.

For the record, Marat never expected to win. He expected to play beautifully. When that didn't happen, he fell apart. But he never once, that I can remember, lost by trying to merely protect the win.

I was referring to the racquet smash Medvedev did on the court,I should have explained that better.,agree Marat was a total nut case
